PGR4 sold very poorly considering what a top notch racer it actually is.

I hope this gives it the sales push it needs, though the original can still be found for less than £20 anyway.

PGR4 is indeed a fantastic game. Takes a bit to get into it I think but then it's one of the best racers I played. I also think it's finally time to get Mass Effect. Can't go wrong for that price.

Every gen they knock out these classics range. It's all well and good you get games new at a cheaper price, but don't they think knocking out the stuff people have already bought in large numbers is a bit of waste of time?

I've always thought to try to combat the 2nd hand market they should re-release the lower sellers. Half the average stuff shove out I wait until it's £20-£25 quid in the 2nd hand market anyway. Maybe give the lower sellers a 2nd chance at the cheaper price and you may see a little more money....

I'll be counted among those who didn't bother taking the time to get into PGR4 then. It left me cold; however, Mass Effect is a different story. Brilliant game, and an absolute bargain for £20.

All these games have been available for less for many months... this would only have been a deal if they had been GOTY editions with DLC included. I tried to like the PGR4 demo but it just angered me constantly. And "kudos" can fuck off.

These three games are CHEAPER new now than these classic range versions - PASS. I think the Classic Range games should be priced at £10

I got Mass Effect new for £17 about 9 months ago. Games seem to get knocked down to £20 or less in no time these days unless they're major blockbuster titles.

The only game that seems to have held its high price since release is Call of Duty 4, but even that is getting cheaper recently.

It took me a very long time to fully appreciate PGR.

I had PGR2, played all the races I could but couldnt get the Kudos system. Sold it.

Then had PGR3. Fantastic multiplayer, fantastic races but again I couldn't get the hook of Kudos.

Recently picked up PGR4 and there's been a slight revamp of the kudos mechanics (more forgiving combo chaining timer) and now I can't get enough of that ass-out sideways action!

I'd like a better structure to the career mode though. Why do devs feel the need to restrict choice so much? I want a list of races, a list of cone challenges, a list of superstar events and maybe one-on-one races to complete a chapter. I want to be able to choose which gametype whenever I want, not this stupid calendar-based event bollocks.

There are arcade and challenge modes though, which is a better structure.

Apart from that I can't fault PGR4 at all. Visually stunning with ultra-smooth framerates, loads of gameplay modes, great multiplayer and really fast and fun, if slightly arcadey, handling.

Thats not a bad price, although if you shop about you can often find it for cheaper than that anyway.

This may mean halo goes to about 10 bones on the second hand market. I refuse to pay more than £10 for it.

Joke prices - these classic ranges are never great value for money and frankly the boxart squished down with some crappy border will make me wait and seek out a second hand copy in mint condition rather than have something which looks terrible on my shelf compared to the rest. why not keep the original, decent boxart or come up with some alternative but full-box art? Sick also of seeing something like Dead Rising or TD:U online and ordering, only to get the 'classic' box when it arrives.

There's people out there fanatical enough about any game to buy it a second time, cheaper, with sexy new art.

And I can get all three of these tites in mint condition from my local blockbusters for about 17.99.

For once we agree. If it was for me, I would immediately scrap all those annoying kudos and cone challenges and limit my career to normal races and time attacks and checkpoint runs.

Your idea of mint condition must be different to mine. Either that or our Blockbusters exist in different dimensions. They gut games so they are hardly ever in mint condition.

Bit too late for these to be a good deal. You can get all three preowned in Blockbuster for ?28.97 or ?39.99 from Gamestation.

All crackers. Could get a console with just them and enjoy it for months. With Live, obv.

PGR4 took away my cone challenges. I consider that a giant bad mark on an otherwise great game.

"PGR4 took away my cone challenges. I consider that a giant bad mark on an otherwise great game."

Eh? PGR4 has cone sprint (regular track, cone gates), super cone sprint (track made of cones) and cone challenge (hit cone clusters on regular track).
