Map pack is worth it for Avalanche alone (almost), single or double CTF is just sublime.

Some great maps in there. Wish they integrated them ASAP in the ranked playlists.

And yes.. vehicles maps are the best of Halo 3. No game can match that atm.

Actually, this time they never said these maps would be free, they only said that with the Heroic ones, and this time they're definitely worth the money. I wouldn't say it's completely impossible for them to be free in a few months, but I wouldn't hold your breath.

The Hornet has been in multiplayer for ages... in Forge, at least :) And it hasn't been compeletely stripped of its homing rockets... just the homing part. That's only fair, seeing as the Banshee had the plasma bomb things that only 3 people know about.

It's not just "map pack", it's Halo, ffs. Anyhow, I wasn't going to buy this, as I don't play Halo for a while, but I tried at a friends and it's yet another quality piece of software by Bungie.

I really, really like Avalanche, blackout is simply lockout, really nothing more and nothing less, certainly shouldn't be paying for it though, can't have taken much effort.

Ghost town is alright but it is a little too reminiscent of call of duty for me, doesn't really sit well with me. I play halo because I like halo, not counter strike or CoD.

Most of my mates think this is a better map pack than the heroic, I can't agree. Avalanche is probably on a par with standoff and ghost town and blackout are worse than rats nest. My first impressions of the forge map in the first pack was that it was a bit of a cop out but after playing infection game types and griffball on it I've realised it's an important addition.

Overall then I'd agree with EGs assessment, that the heroic was better than the legendary.

I wouldn't normally call a map pack good value, but Bungie have delivered both times now. The sheer quality of all 6 maps have made it worth the 1600 points I've spent. There's a lot more care in these maps than there are in, say, Call of Duty 4 (which I love almost as much as Halo3)

These maps are great. Ghost Town was very well designed and any one in the level design area needs to take a good look at how it was made.

completly off-topic: yesterday I was playing the awesome GTA on the machine it was designed to play in (read tree-six-tee. trolling is fun), and was doing a drug delivery in a shady area, and one guy came upon me and said "caralho!". I went, oh my god!, am I playing too much?! I just heard this asshole speaking portuguese!. I went back, showed him my piece, and he screamed "Foda-se! This guy is gonna kill me!".
So freakin cool! They have portuguese NPCs!

Ah, I've played just about every shooter that matters and the halo franchise has given me some of the most memorable moments. Your point doesn't hold up. Or is this the part where you pretend that you where only trolling to lure 'fanboys' out?

I have already paid for my copy of Halo 3, why would I pay again just to play it?

There are better things I can do with my 6 pound 80s, like buy new underwears or putting a deposit down for the next game I will never truly own without multiple 6 pound 80 updates.

If you cant fork over a few quid for 3 ace maps then you are a peasant.

The biggest barrier to entry to these map packs, for me, is not so much the price, but the guarantee that the kind of people who have bought them and therefore I will be playing with are mostly people taking the whole thing far too seriously.

I mean, I'm all for playing to win, but I'm not about to unleash a torrent of invective on perfect strangers if I don't.

I got the maps for free yesterday. To be honest, I probably wouldn't have paid the money but they ARE brilliant maps. Loads of fun.

I'll keep buying downloadable maps/tracks/cars/whatever if I think they are worth it. I frequently do, as do many others. You dont want them then dont buy them.

You have the choice, the choice to moan and bitch and whine, or the choice to STFU and let us enjoy our DLC in peace.
