Coming to PS2 in summer.

Going all retro this afternoon is Activision, who's whacked on the sweat-bands and announced that Guitar Hero: Rocks the 80s will be heading exclusively to PS2 this summer.

There will be 30 new songs to pound along to, plus new characters to play as and retro environments to trash.

A full track list is yet to be revealed, but Activision let slip a handful to whet our rock-etite.

I Wanna Rock - Twisted Sister
I Ran - Seagulls
Round and Round - Ratt
I Want Candy - Bow Wow Wow
Metal Health - Quiet Riot
Holy Diver - Dio
Heat Of The Moment - Asia

Maybe a little early for Genesis, then. Shame.

Music didnt exist in the 80's.

Although having grown to love some of the abysmal tracks on GH2 I guess I might be able to grit my teeth.

Is living on a prayer a good song? No, its one of the worst crimes against humanity ever! Would be the best GH song ever made? Quite possibly.

Couldn't agree more. GH is all about the cheesy rock tunes, not the navel gazing emo.

But, by God, there better be some ACDC in there...

Metallica might let them licence a song or two, seeing as how they have a new album due out real soon... May get them a bit of publicity.

That added to the fact that the last album was panned by a lot of fans (yeah I know it won a Grammy) and they could be doing with all the positive publicity they can get!

But from the new song they perform live it seems that Metallica's next album will be very similar to St. Anger...Unfortunately...

Would it be wrong of me to hope for Pixies, Husker Du and The Smiths rather than all hair metal, all the time? I love GH 1 and 2, but I really think there needs to be a bit of variety in the tracks.

Why isn't this on 360? Geez. You'd think after making us pay �60-70 for the game, we'd be able to buy the expansions too...

As it stands, I don't have GH on the PS2 and thus there is no chance I'll be getting this.

An 80s edition should quite clearly be filled with tracks by The Smiths, The Cure and The Police.

I can just imagine it now, the intro riff of This Charming Man, jamming along. That would be perfect.
