Guitar Hero: Rocks the 80s
Coming to PS2 in summer.
Going all retro this afternoon is Activision, who's whacked on the sweat-bands and announced that Guitar Hero: Rocks the 80s will be heading exclusively to PS2 this summer.
There will be 30 new songs to pound along to, plus new characters to play as and retro environments to trash.
A full track list is yet to be revealed, but Activision let slip a handful to whet our rock-etite.
- I Wanna Rock - Twisted Sister
- I Ran - Seagulls
- Round and Round - Ratt
- I Want Candy - Bow Wow Wow
- Metal Health - Quiet Riot
- Holy Diver - Dio
- Heat Of The Moment - Asia
Maybe a little early for Genesis, then. Shame.

Bon Jovi would be awesome.
Chuck in some Van Halen, Tears for Fears, Alice Cooper (poison anyone?), Kiss (Crazy Nights), Extreme, G'n'R etc etc

Although having grown to love some of the abysmal tracks on GH2 I guess I might be able to grit my teeth.

So, out this summer eh? Mrs Sheep has just got into Guitar Hero so this'll come along at just the right time!
And she loves 80s music.

Great song, mind =)

Couldn't agree more. GH is all about the cheesy rock tunes, not the navel gazing emo.
But, by God, there better be some ACDC in there...
"Guitar Hero: Rocks the Prog" next for me, please Activision.

Lose the 'a'! Blasphemy! It's Megadeth!...
I'd think the combo 'Into the lungs of hell/Set the world afire" would be awesome...
Also Master Of Puppets...

Megadeth and Maiden have already done so though, so it would be foolish not to have them in here. Holy Wars? Tornado of Souls? Eternal YES PLZ

Quite simply, THE best key change in rock history.

Tornado immediately sprang to mind...And soon after that horrid realisation that the album was from 1990...
Still...They could also make a 90's version couldn't they?

Metallica might let them licence a song or two, seeing as how they have a new album due out real soon... May get them a bit of publicity.
That added to the fact that the last album was panned by a lot of fans (yeah I know it won a Grammy) and they could be doing with all the positive publicity they can get!

But from the new song they perform live it seems that Metallica's next album will be very similar to St. Anger...Unfortunately...
Megadeth's latest is a disappointment as well, having only 2 or 3 good songs...

And if we're looking at Van Halen songs, then Hot For Teacher (although that might be better for Rock Band)

As it stands, I don't have GH on the PS2 and thus there is no chance I'll be getting this.

I sold both of my guitar heroes yesterday, and will be buying the 360 version this week.
Though thats a shit bunch of songs, where are the good 80's tracks?

I can just imagine it now, the intro riff of This Charming Man, jamming along. That would be perfect.

Love it

Just because a new one has come along, doesnt stop you from playing the old one?

Thats not to say that the songs woun't be released as DC on the 360. You'll just have to pay like 600points for 3 songs
