Arcade Fire are great.... :)

And a 'UK' centered version would be cool... The songs on GH2 were a bit of a let down imo.

I'm really curious what they're going to do with the Wii. I hope (and this is really a dream, as I doubt they'll do it) that they release a guitar peripheral which has a slot where you insert the Wii remote, allowing you to do more movements with the guitar than just the tilting thing in Guitar Hero II.

And are they ever going to get those PS2 guitars working on PS3?

Doesn't a USB controller adapter work??

Well they could mimic all of your movements with your on screen character, that would be cool.

Smashing it into pieces in the aftermath of My Generation!

Seriously, I demand more quality punk for the GH. Screw classic rock, give me Eton Rifles, give me Bodies, give me See No Evil!

Problem with that, newt, is they don't lend themselves so well to rthymn action games. They're very simple songs, often with very little guitar going on.

'Classic' rock has far more prominent lead lines, so lends itself far better to stuff like this.

Any MUSE guitar based track is a must. Plug in baby, showbiz, new born(after the 1 min piano intro obviously).

@ ManicMinerUK,
That will be a first then!! just joking.
People are talking about certain tracks or artists because of the comment he made about releasing genre disc expansions.

Not really. And even straightforward songs can be translated into a serious challenge - No One Knows in the original GH, for example.

Yeah maybe, its the first time i have, it was just his comment, more diversity of tracks for download, genre specific region tracks released like exspansion packs.
I have both for ps2 and will be trading them both in on friday for the xbox 360 version. I still think the first game had the best tracks though, although "dead"
i like.

maybe you should ask next time about all the bricked xbox's mine being one of them. Downloaded patch booted up xbox and there was the ring of death. Good news is Microsoft extended my warranty, carnt be sure it was the patch because it crashed a few times while playing guitar hero, but it definitely finished it off.

@ wellsie,

this is a concern for me, i have a OCTOBER 2005 xbox 360.

Its been good as gold for me, apart from thinking its a dvd player on a regular basis(in order to play this game please put this disc in a xbox 360 console!)
Ive never had any red rings at all, but im now concernd about this and the patch.
i seem to be the only person in the world with a working launch console!!

polymorph, I have a march 06 xbox, Not sure if there was already a fault with the xbox guitar hero just made it show or if it caused the problem. I have never had a problem before and my xbox has crashed less then five times since I have had it. I would not worry to much if you have guitar hero and its patched and still working sounds like from what I have heard you should be ok

No One Knows isn't simple in the first place though.

The original examples you gave, like Eton Rifles, are just chords. There's nothing else going on.
No One Knows is all over the place.

@ wellsie,

Thats my point, i don't have it for XBOX 360 yet.
I get paid on Friday and im going to trade in my ps2 version towards it,
But if it's going to fuck my 360, then ill wait for a patch that actually works.

Synth hero ftw.. not!

I'm fully aware of the point that conventional rock works better with GH but still, I had most fun with simple stuff like Search & Destroy. Just let us simpletons have a GH: Punk Rock expansion and we'll be off to our happy land.

We did ask. They couldn't give us an answer during the interview, but eventually got back to us and said they were looking into it, which we covered in a separate item on Monday.

Same as the other two. The only difference i can see is that you could slot the wii mote into the guitar, and use it to communicate with the console.

Thus saving on expensive blue-tooth elements and doing the wireless communication cheaper. Also no need to build the tilt into the guitar, as the wiimote will do that for you.

So in theory, the guitar could be the cheapest version of all 3 (not needing wires or tilt mechanism or bluetooth/batteries/etc).

But that's just in theory.

Cant see what else they'd bother doing with it.

and we think that they're priced competitively

Against who? Yourselves pricing the other packs at too high a cost? Or against the main game whjich comes on a disc in packagaging sold in shop where you get 70 track and a guitar for 60 quid. Making each track cost less than a quid. Not including the actual game cost and the costs involved with dictribution.
Buch of fuckers you can keep your Guitar Hero and shove it. I hope you go out of business.
