Guitar Hero: Aerosmith demo on Live

Four-song taster on offer.

Activision has slammed an Xbox 360 demo of Guitar Hero: Aerosmith onto Live Marketplace.

Songs available to jam along to are "Sweet Emotion" and "Dream On" by Aerosmith, plus "Walk This Way" by Run DMC featuring Aerosmith, and "I Hate Myself For Loving You" by Joan Jett and the Blackhearts.

Bit like a free song pack, then.

We gave Guitar Hero: Aerosmith 6/10 back in June. The game is far from rubbish, but more akin to expensive, well-implemented DLC - which sinks or swims depending on your love for the band.

Head over to our Guitar Hero: Aerosmith review to find out more.

Wonder if they plan to do the same thing for PSN?

I'll give it a go just for "Walk this way". Too bad "Dream On" was already released as a freebie download for GH3.

    4 songs? That's 20% of the game!

    20%?! That's a whole fifth!

They release it at a stupid price for anyone but true die-hard Aerosmith fans or GH completists.

And now they release (arguably) the best song in Walk This Way as a free demo.

    Dumb and Dumber! :-D

GH A was a real disappointment for me. Traded it after a few days.

It's also the easiest GH game by a massive distance. I scraped through 2 on hard and can't do 3 on hard, on this I finished it on Expert in an evening with only a couple of retries. If you have a rental service and a guitar then it's worth playing through, but I certainly wouldn't ever recommend buying it (30 songs through the career, 18 by Aerosmith and 12 by other bands).

There's a demo for this on the newest OPS3M.
  • ToAks #10 3 years ago

This demo has been available on PS3 for over a month now, but only from Offline distrobution.. aka the Official Playstation Magazine , from time to time they have exclusive demos which never appear on PSN or...they might appear but only after a long "delay". PS: OPSM have everything from 18 to 28 demos on a bluray in every issue.

    @BoffBoff
When did "Dream On" get released as a freebie for GH3? Is it still available?
  • Tricky #12 3 years ago

Dream On was released as a freebie for 360 owners in Europe, but not PS3 owners. The US got both versions though.

There's a Kravitz track also (name escapes me), for 5 tracks total.

Yeah as ToAks says, there's five songs as far as I know - this demo was on the coverdisc of the Official Playstation Magazine (at least it was on the Dutch one) together with no less than 22 other demos. Among which I think the Overlord: Raising Hell also was one that I don't think is online yet?

It's actually awesome - five pretty good songs, three of them very good, and two very good to play Guitar Hero. Beats any online download pack so far, and it's free!

Always on the Run (with Slash solo, always good) and Dream On are my favorites in this demo.

I actually wonder if online media purposefully ignore these coverdiscs in their coverage so as not to help the competition, or if they do it because they just don't expect anything newsworthy from paper mags anymore. ;)

    the game is shit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol
  • Eraysor #16 3 years ago

Dream On was only available for one weekend. Boring song too. Still, Walk This Way will be entertaining and also saves me from ever buying the game!

Not quite. Download is available to Live Gold members only.

It's a demo for crying out loud, M$!
