GTI Club and friends in PSN update News

PlayStation 3 PSP News by Tom Bramwell

5 December, 2008

GTI Club + Rally Cote D'Azur takes a bow on PlayStation Network today along with a demo of LEGO Batman and add-ons for the likes of Race Driver: GRID and Star Wars: The Force Unleashed.

Konami's spirited remake of the arcade machine of the same name nicks the gameplay and splatters it lovingly across more up to date graphics in a way that made us quite tingly in our 7/10 review, which should not be seen as too off-putting. We're looking forward to more tracks and other content.

Meanwhile, there's another couple of PSone games (Red Alert Retaliation and Jet Rider - classics, we're sure you'll agree) and of course the requisite downloadables for Guitar Hero World Tour and Rock Band.

What I hate about the PSN store is that it looks like there's lots of demos but then it turns out that most of them are for the PSP, a handheld I don't own and have no interest in owning. Since PSP owners can get these demos from their handhelds via the wireless connectivity, do Sony *really* need to put them up on the PS3's own Store? Or is it there for padding, to disguise how threadbare the Store really is?

Saw that GRID has paid dlc content now. Bought this game cheap yesterday, loved DIRT by the same team, and holy shit is it hard.

Beautiful to look at, but this game kicked my ass in every race I attempted last night.

Bit of a crap week, but GTI is good and I may be getting it for free if I am reviewing it.

I downloaded the Lego Batman demo last night, but haven't played it yet. I don't think it'll be my sort of game, but I'll give it a chance.

@Darren

Perhaps. But since the PSP did not have direct access to the store a while back, they may be continuing with this for consistency's sake.

OTOH, if you have no wifi and no Windows PC, you cannot access the store with the PSP without the PS3.
