GTA IV trailer tonight

But screenshots now.

Rockstar Games is fiddling with Sellotape and generally fastening up the final bits of a new Grand Theft Auto IV trailer, which is set to go live tonight at 8pm GMT, which is noon in some other part of the world or something.

The new trailer will be called "Move up, ladies", and will add to our already considerably considerable knowledge about GTA IV - knowledge that we recently compiled in our Grand Theft Auto IV: The Story So Far feature.

To help get you in the mood for moving up the ladies or whatever Rockstar's preparing, the publisher has also pumped out some new screenshots drawn from the trailer, which show a view from under a bridge, a man on a motorbike and a pub.

Join us soon after 8pm for the trailer or help crash www.rockstargames.com/iv by going there at the allotted time and hitting F5 as often as your anticipation-filled fingers will permit.

The full game's due out sometime between February and the end of April on PS3 and Xbox 360.

Does anyone really still look forward to a GTA game. Seriously, they all play about the same with the same type of kill this, deliver that missions.
  • Steroyd #2 5 years ago

To me it's all about what you do outside the missions which was where GTA SA and GTA LCS fell flat.

GTA VCS however has rekindled my interest in the series, although if the draw distance, framerate, pop-in and overall polish isn't significantly improved on these so called next gen versions then I'm done with the series.

It's always the same old complete this to get that, working towards some kind of conclusion in a fictional enviroment scenario.
    Am I game dead? :p

Even though the stories in the GTA's have been good, the reason I play these types of games is because I just love to roam around in their worlds. I thought GTA:SA was absolutely fantastic in that regard. Sure, it could have been improved with more things to do and more variety and stuff, but still.. an entire county to play around in! I loved it!

I'm hoping for more of the same in GTAIV. More exploration, more little things to collect, more hidden jumps to find, more side missions to complete, more vehicles to try out, more skyscrapers to jump from etc.

My question is will the music be as good as GTA:VC?

Causing motorway pileups and placing C4 on the resultant cluster of vehicles never gets old. The GTA series carries a certain amount of nostalgia for me and this no doubt helps with the initial purchase.

If anything, VCS completely turned me off the 'old' GTA3 style of gameplay. I thought it was utter shit. Whether that due to just being bored of the general gameplay or what I don't know, but I found it mind numbingly boring compared to all the previous GTAs.

Which is why I'm looking forward to this game as it's rekindled my interest in the series. It sounds as if they are keeping what made the series so great, but at the same time keeping it fresh by changing their approach the how the game plays and ironing out some of the flaws that have been apparent since the first PS2 iteration. Basically, it sounds exactly how I wanted a next-gen GTA to turn out like.

Is Rockstar promoting health and safety by having the lead character wear a helmet, when he's on a bike?

    @Penhalion

You win first prize in the "most redundant question in gaming, 2007-08" competition.

If you like that sort of thing (like I do) then, yes, you look forward to it. If you dont, then, well, I'm sure you can see where this is going..........

Anyone remember the Bigfoot hunt from San Andreas? :)
  • DSKUK #19 5 years ago

I hoping that one of the multiplayer features in this games is some sort of co-op action (preferably online)...I loved the 2-player mode in GTA:SA, if only it was at least split screen though :(

I can still remember climbing into that Kuruma at the beginning of GTAIII, slightly nervous about how my beloved 2D GTA games were going to carry over to this brave new world of three dimensions, and having all my fears laid to rest, there and then, as this box of toys was gradually revealed to me through a funny story, a very cynical set of game glasses, and some minigame variety.

Crazy Taxi thrown in for free, with a make-it-yourself Chase HQ in the Vigilante Missions, and the tricky, technical Patriot Games stuff.

I am certainly looking forward to that 'new car smell'. Crackdown was a great inbetweener, and one I still dunk back into from time to time, but by the time IV is due next year, I'll be ready for another main course. I spent well over a hundred hours in San Andreas, most of it just amusing myself, and only the great raft of other stuff available at the moment is preventing me itching for GTA already.

Ooh. First person in car view!
  • Caimbeul #26 5 years ago

I'd be very surprised if those screen shots are not enhanced to remove jaggies.

yup. loved the "welcome to America" bit. certaiinly laid concerns about the humour to rest. You can see why its taken so long. this feels completely ingrained with the modern day. Cant bloody wait.
