GTA IV DLC to be released in February
It'll star a member of biker gang The Lost.
The first downloadable content for the Xbox 360 version of Grand Theft Auto IV will be released on 17th February.
That's according to USA Today, which says the content will be comprised of a new episode titled The Lost and Damned. It'll star Johnny Klebitz, who belongs to Liberty City biker gang The Lost. GTA IV's main protagonist, Niko, will only have a bit-part in the episode.
"Johnny is a very different character than Niko, with a very different background," said Rockstar bossman Dan Houser.
"I can't go into too much detail on the story, because we try not to give away too much plot before the game is released. But I can say that the story will show you a different side of Liberty City."
Houser added that the actions you took in the main game won't affect how the story plays out in The Lost and Damned. However, he added, "Tons of details and mysteries from the main story get explained, so it will add a lot of colour to the main story."
Rockstar has yet to announce a price for the DLC, or to confirm whether the 17th February date applies globally.

And I like the fact that it follows a different storyline. That'll ensure that those who bought it on the PS3 don't feel short-changed on the main game.
Win-win.

They should have just made another San Andreas type game, I played that game for like 70 + hours, IV I played for about 27, by which time I'd finished the story, couldn't be arsed with multiplayer after a game in every mode, and got bored of the city.

Ah well it's not like there's nothing else out at the moment to play, so for that I suppose I'm grateful

Liberty/Vice City Stories were both neat packages which brought something new to the table while clearly saving the devs on having to build new cities from scratch.
My only concern is that if they *don't* introduce different minigames/wardrobe choices/characters/radio stations/areas/websites then it'll essentially just seem like a handful of new levels with a new player skin...
It would be nice to play this and replay the main campaign in parallel and see/hear news stories emerging regarding the other character's exploits! If they introduce new bars/hideouts etc I wonder whether Nico will be able to access them too once the DLC is installed...
In any case, lets just face it, R* only bothered to start thinking this through well after the game came out, and they're winging it as we speak. Regardless of how good it ends up, it'll probably be released buggy and the 2nd ep won't be out till Summer!

The news that you will play a biker and his gang and that it will focus on showing a "Different side of Liberty City" all but confirms to me the rumours that the downloadable content will see you fighting off hordes of zombies that gradually infect the inhabitants of Liberty city.
Last month some hints were found in game, with a lot of zombie related stuff going on... see here..

The Lost (Biker gang name) and The damned (Being a term used for the undead)!!
If this DLC isn't an all out zombie appocolypse then i'll eat my hat.
