GTA IV DLC to be available in shops?
GameStop says it'll cost 20 bucks.
The new downloadable content for Grand Theft Auto IV will be available in shops as well as via Xbox Live.
At least, that's what a new listing on the website of US retailer GameStop would suggest.
It prices GTA IV: The Lost and Damned at USD 19.99 - that's GBP 13 / EUR 15 in the old money.
According to GameStop that won't get you an actual disc, but a "token card" with a unique code that lets you buy the expansion pack via Live. You'll also get a two-sided poster.
Rockstar has yet to comment on the listing, or to announce a price for the new DLC. We do know, however, that The Lost and Damned will be released on 17th February. It'll follow the adventures of biker Johnny Klebitz and will feature new multiplayer modes, weapons, vehicles and music.
Look out for more info soon but in the meantime, why not take a trip down memory lane by reading our review of the original game?

They want to reach as wide an audience as possible. With roughly 50% of 360 owners being offline, this might help. Given the millions pumped into the DLC it seems like a smart move.

Also, if it came on a DVD it could then be sold on which would piss off Braben, a worthy cause.

These will be the same people that have their 360 Elite connected to their 50" HDTV via the yellow composite cable.
I sorted out a neighbour's TV connection only last week, and he'd had his console for over a year.

Head back to school and pay attention in maths, mate.

It did make me smile when I bought The Shivering Isles from GAME, installed the content, then sold it on again for pennies less than I'd originally paid for it...
I ended up losing the extra content when I switched to a 120GB drive, but by then the GOTY edition was eminently affordable!

Perhaps I have merely been spoilt by things like Burnout Paradise.
Or I am becoming meaner.
Or the story isn't true.

If they're completely offline, they obviously can't. But this might get them to plug in a LAN cable for once. Do you need a gold account to get XBLA stuff? In that case they might make an exception this time and let anyone that's able (and willing) to connect to the internet and pay for it get it.
"I may be one of GTA IV's biggest fans, but given that Microsoft directed a $50million 'investment' for the DLC, I'd expect the expansion to be cheaper as a piece of DLC.
The reason that it's priced at this level is that MS invested millions in it. With the deal they agreed that they would get a significant part of the DLC revenue.

Didn't even finish the original content and much rather spend my money on Fallout 3 DLC.
2008 GOTY? Fallout 3 FTW!
