Greenberg: E3 leak is "uninformed" News

Xbox 360 News by Tom Bramwell

14 May, 2009

Microsoft's Aaron Greenberg has told Eurogamer that the information supposedly leaked about the platform holder's E3 showing is "completely uninformed".

"I can confirm that this post is completely uninformed and does not even come close to matching our news for E3," Greenberg told Eurogamer.

"You can't believe everything you read, but it is fun to see people trying to guess what will be shown at the show and we are excited to share our real news with everyone on June 1st."

Microsoft's conference kicks off at 10.30am PST (6.30pm BST) on 1st June, and we'll be there covering it live as usual.

The earlier supposed leak claimed that Metal Gear Solid 4 was on its way to Xbox 360, along with a motion controller called Xbox Fluid and various other unannounced projects.

Quick EG, before anyone else reads this article.

Will be interesting to see what they have then. If MGS4 turns out to be untrue, I doubt they'll have anything as interesting (or controversial).

Well hopefully they'll unveil some actual games instead. You know, with MGS4 being a cut-scene compilation.

They are pretty shit-hot cut scenes. And the game's brilliant fun too. Please try again.

That much was obvious with the list containing the next GTA4 DLC while R* has said that they will not be unveiling anything at the E3.

Well I can only assume Microsoft will show off something even better, which is going to be difficult.

And it better not be an hour of 1 vs 100.

Microsoft will show some amazing new Virtual Reality technology that requires the user to wear a device the size of regular sunglasses.

You heard it here first, guys. I'm a random guy on the internet making a wild claim that has a possibility of being real, so it's to be taken as a reliable rumor and the technology must now be debated and declared never to work.

Crap, I'm not on twitter, so it won't be taken as true.

Wow, some twitter post from some unknown guy citing absolutely no source turned out to be made up. Unthinkable.

I remember when Shigeru Miyamoto several years ago at the time of the original Xbox, revealed that Microsofts xbox online service would be called Xbox Live a week or so before the actual Microsoft announcement.
Anyone else remember this?

If only I could find that particular interview...

It's entirely plausible that much of the twitter post is true.
It's not like Baron Von Greenback actually denied any of it.

Please....he doesn't even get out of bed for less than $10k, so his love-spuds will probably be wrapped in America's only million dollar bill.

I heard from some bloke in the pub that got it fom a reliable source who apparentlly smelt strongly of booze, up a back alley that Nintendo will be announcing pulling out of the console market at E3 this year, because it's "not performing as well as they hoped". They apparently hope to apply their motion control technology to a new range of cookery products.

I expect to see EG's article on this tomorrow morning.

You are failing to seperate the fact that the source has no credit at all and has most likely just cooked up these titles (which is the point people are trying to make) and the fact that most of these titles are as good as if not already confirmed (i.e. ODST releases this autumn, there isn't a snowballs chance in hell that it will not appear).

Xerx3s is correct. Slip in all the guaranteed stuff (GTA DLC, ODST, etc) and it gives you credibility, even if all the shit you made up was wrong, the MAJORITY of your claims will be proven true simply because we knew they were beforehand anyway. Like saying "Obama is a democrat. Obama is pro-separation of church and state. Obama is pro-stem cell research. Obama eats babies."

I'm really not sure why MGS4 coming to 360 would be a huge surprise. The surprise will come if they manage to fit on anything less than 4 discs.
