Grand Theft Auto V set in Hollywood?
Report ignites the rumour bomb.
Grand Theft Auto V may be set in Hollywood, according to an idiosyncratic report on VG247.
The blog added that a reveal could happen at a Max Payne 3 event "soon".
Rockstar apparently had no comment to make on the matter. Surprise.
Grand Theft Auto IV - the world's fastest selling videogame before Modern Warfare 2 came along - was released in April 2008. Eurogamer editor Tom Bramwell awarded 10/10.

Anyway, if this is going to be San Andreas 2, consider me out.

So anyway, I wouldn't be surprised that, if this game is real, it's coming out of Leeds rather than Edinburgh.

Missed that one on purpose.
It's always nice seeing EG trollbaiting its own audience by remembering everyone of the GTA IV hype scam.
Hype scam? Trollbaiting? We're just reporting what's hot and what we think you might like to kept up to date on. I don't know who VG247's source is, but editor Pat Garratt is usually confident of something when he goes to press.

There is always another GTA in the works.
As for the Max Payne event reveal, they can always dedicate few seconds at the end.

If they want to impress they'll announce something radically different, like "New GTA game features no cars"
...Oh wait, they already did that...

GTA was great for a while, but after playing 4 relatively the same games and never finishing one of them due to stupid control issues or flawed mission structure I'm quite done with how it is now.

What?
Comment below viewing threshold Show
just making my way through TLAD then on to TBOGT love being back in liberty city..........but FFS make everyone in the USA repeatedly try to get in the wrong side of the car and drive on the wrong side of the road without realising, then go out in a real car and have to think `am i on the right side?` well maybe thats just me :/ anyway GTAV:LONDON !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To the above: I reckon a London setting would be really attractive to the US audience - capture that Lock Stock/Snatch/Layer Cake vibe. Guy Ritchie to collaborate?

No, it's in Edinburgh. DMA were founded in Dundee but they've been Edinburgh based since they became Rockstar.

GTA on the moon or another planet? maybe GTA set in the future with hover cars, that would be cool. a futuristic hollywood,,,,
Comment below viewing threshold Show
Nah, too corrupt.
Comment below viewing threshold Show
How about setting it in Sydney, Paris....or Torquay?
Comment below viewing threshold Show
They could set it on the moon for all I care, just bring back the fun, stupidity and laughs.
GTA4 took itself far too seriously.

I guess setting it in America gives them the structure of 'blocks' which makes designing and generating the city on the fly easier.

Like I said before, I'm going to say Mexico City again because its huge, colorful, and spicey. And lots can be done from Aztecs, mariachis to luchadores.

More gangster loving, I can't do, unless its the actually fun gameplay of Saint's Row 3.
