The original GTA seemed better to me, why not that top-down view?

I hadn't seen these. I wasn't particularly interested, but it looks good to me. If it plays like the original GTA then I'll have to consider getting it. Hopefully the crappy looking minigames won't be very prominent...

Looks like GTA 2.5 (ie. the top-down pseudo-3d of GTA2 with some of the spatial depth of GTA3). Could be fun, as long as it has plenty of GTA2's labyrinthine free roaming. In fact, why not just port GTA2 to DS? I'd probably be more interested in that tbh.

Wow.. on those top down shots you can't even see what the.. things on the ground are supposed to be. Are they enemies? Debris? Bodies? Bad sign when you can't tell what the graphics are supposed to portray..
