Gran Turismo TV Euro date confirmed

Same as the US, says SCEE boss.

Gran Turismo TV will launch properly in Europe at the same time it does in the USA.

That's 1st August in case you missed Sony's E3 press conference.

"The prices for the GT TV offerings will be announced within the next two weeks," SCEE president David Reeves said at an event in Santa Monica today.

Which is sort of obvious, he added, given that 1st August is two weeks away.

GT TV is part of Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, but its soft launch with the game is finally being reinforced by programming from racing competitions around the world, the BBC's Top Gear and internal programming.

This will even include GT creator Kazunori Yamauchi - who attended Reeves' briefing at the Viceroy hotel on Santa Monica's Ocean Drive - touring the Ferrari factory.

Who is going to be that pleased that GT TV is appearing at the same time as US bu not the proper PAL tv/movie store? Well cant complain as same for Movie Marketplace for X360 that also appeared a long time after US got theirs!

    Good for petrolheads though!

This sounds to me like a pointless addition to GT5 Prologue. I mean I can watch Top Gear on TV for free for starters so what's the appeal of watching it from within a game? I take it this is a service you have to pay for? And who wants to watch videos from within a game, wouldn't you rather, you know, be PLAYING it? :?

    Edit: oops, spellings!

    ^^^^^^^^^^^^^

I will also be watching old top gear shows on Dave ;)

Shouldn't bbc shows be free in uk? or is it just the 'other' videos that are payable?

OOOO goody. We get GT TV. Wheres all the other stuff ? You know improved AI, Voice chat online, damage modeling and lobbies ... oh hang on they can't charge for that.

I am also puzzled, about this. Free shows add no value to the game and if they are paid content, then why limit yourself to GT owners when you can sell them in the regular store? Sounds to me as if Polyphony can just do whatever crazy thing they want and Sony runs with it no questions asked.

But maybe the idea catches on and we will only be able to see BBC News if we buy the latest Sony games.

If it is free then all is well. If they charge for it then they can go and #$%#$^#$ themselves.
