A fighting mini-game, supposedly.

God of War III may receive a multiplayer fighting mini-game as downloadable content in April.

That's according to the French Official PlayStation Magazine, which has a boxout feature on the content titled, "Du Multi Pour Kratos".

Scans of the magazine (on GameTrailers, spotted by VG247) also show two blurry screenshots. These depict familiar fighting scenes: two characters at either end of the screen with health bars above their heads and a round timer in the middle.

Sony's not commenting, for the moment.

~They'd need seperate gameplay mechanics if a 2nd player is going play as someone equally agile as Kratos.
Most of his moves are based on crowd control, not many are for single targets.

Still, if it's some colliseum based fight events it just might work, doubt it it'll be as fun to play as Kratos was in Soul Cali on the PSP though.

You have to beat the game on the hardest difficulty 3 times in a row without getting hit, then defeat Sheng long to unlock it

Ghehe 'Piano-Hero' add made me chuckle....But am afraid that the greedy monster that is Bobby K. will be inspired by these April 1st fun-adds and, as we speak, has summoned the GH-Devs to investigate the possibilities of a cheap plastic piano with coloured keys...
Could be an idea for peepz that suffer from 'Guitar-apathy'.

I don't know what to believe now that April approaches. This sounds crazy and I can't imagine it being any fun.
God of War is a fantastic single player game. Best left at that IMHO.

Bah, what the hell is the point of MP in GoW? I'm sure someone's gonna come up with a good answer, but I just don't see it. GoW is such a quintessentially SP game imo. Not every single game NEEDS mp.

Assuming it's real:
But if you're going to tack on MP this is definitely the best way to do it. Do it after release so it doesn't interfere with the main game development and make it an optional DLC so that those who want to have a go can and those who don't, don't.

Oh dear. This is a game where multiplayer is really not needed. Let's hope it's all just a rumour, and nothing else.

Anyone who has finished the game will know that they already did this in God of War III - and it worked pretty well - so it's not entirely out of the question as a fun piece of extra content.

This game needs something to give it legs - sorely tempted to trade in after one weekend. Once it's finished there's not much reason to go back, and although I did love it, the game seems a lot shorter than the previous two installments.

Excellent experience but just too short.
