God of War III dated for Japan

March date a clue for Europe?

Sony's given God of War III a concrete Japanese date of 25th March 2010.

Meanwhile, in Europe, Sony hasn't been more specific than "March", although this latest scrap suggests a 26th March date is likely.

The publisher told Eurogamer this afternoon that nothing has been confirmed and may not be for a few weeks.

Europe's also heard nothing more of the God of War Collection, the Blu-ray revival of PS2 games God of War I & II. This was released in the US last year, so importing is an option.

God of War III, alongside Heavy Rain and perhaps Gran Turismo 5, is another glitz-and-glamour first-party exclusive Sony has lined up for early 2010.

Head over to our gamepage below for the God of War III story so far.

Sony seem a little backward in coming forward today.

There is a lot riding on spring for Sony, GT5, Heavy Rain, GoW3 and the wands (although i'm expecting those to be delayed)

I want to know who will be stocking the GoW Ultimate Trilogy box, it looks sexy! Hopefully someone like Play.com will get it, because at least you'll know it'll be £20 or more cheaper than if GAME/HMV does it. Trouble is though, some websites are offering one exclusive DLC skin (play.com has Apollo, amazon has another), which are all included in the Ultimate Trilogy boxset as standard, which makes things seem awkward now.

Never played a GOW game so imported the GOW Collection and loved it. Bought a copy of GOW Chains of Olympus for the PSP too, again an amazing game. Tried the GOW III demo, but by this time it just felt a little meh. Don't get me wrong, graphically it is off the charts and all that, but the gameplay looked and felt exactly the same which is when it just got a tad boring, I felt I had seen all before. Also they really need to sort out the framerate issue. Playing at 60FPS on the GOW Collection has seriously spoilt me!

I really hope that I am proved wrong and it turns out a 8/10 or above.

Isn't the only way to get the GOW Collection (without importing) is buying the Ultimate Box?

They've at least hinted that the collection will be available outside the trilogy box, but the details are all very vague at the moment.

I'm personally waiting to see what they're doing with the trilogy, it really appeals to me, especially as it comes with all the pre-order content as standard, so you're not missing out on anything. But it's really going to depend on the price, which I could see being well over £100.

Spent the Xmas to New Year break with GOW collection - played both 1 and 2 back to back and enjoyed every second of it. Easy trophies too. Not a bad thing in my book if GOW 3 is very similar - although the trailer does hint at some news moves and weapons. Will be interesting to see if Darksiders and Dantes Inferno steal some of the thunder.

I'm on San Francisco at the moment and just picked up the GoW collection from Gamespot. Woohoo!

I was looking forward to this but the madness & fighting in Bayonetta (360 version), which has the best fighting mechanics ever - has sort of put this on a back burner for me - I suppose playing GOWS 1 & II and it seems that another GOW has worn thin.

Hope Bayonetta on PS3 gets fixed as it's probably the best of it's kind with that crazy Japanese zen in it PS3 was slightly less impressive due to the loading times, slow down, and loss of texture detail - this sort of ruined the flow of this fast spaced action brawler.

The Gow collection got a 9 on Eurogamer so id say Gow 3 will get a 9 easily maybe even a 10
