Ghost Recon: Future Soldier revealed
Due this autumn, beta in summer.
Ubisoft's big reveal has turned out to be Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, a new instalment in the tactical shooter series that's due for release this autumn.
The name may ring a bell, as Ubisoft filed a trademark to protect the title last December.
A press release promises "cutting-edge technology, prototype high-tech weaponry, and state-of-the-art single-player and multiplayer modes".
Owners of Splinter Cell: Conviction will be invited to participate in a Future Soldier multiplayer beta this summer.
No platforms have been announced.

What advantages does a "future soldier" have over an "advanced warfighter", exactly?

Can't we get a return to the originals? Pleaase... I bought GRAW 2 during christmas and I find it to be pretty shallow on a tactical level.

Christ. Ubisoft must be a permanent state of excitement if announcing a GR sequel is big news to them.

To be fair, unless this is a game about colonial marines comin' down in drop ships to take out bugs/aliens/other human factions, colour me not interested.

Or is this game based on the Afghan president's claim that our troops will be stuck out there for another 15 years?

That new Medal of Honor looked pretty smart, at the VGA's, so that's where the bar's set for shooters hype for me this year.

They might as well just delay it to 2011 now because I can't see them doing it. They're more than happy to delay games when others look like taking sales away (e.g. Splinter Cell).
