News Xbox 360 Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare

Giveaway is up and running.

Earlier this week we told you Eurogamer had partnered with Activision to give away Call of Duty 4 beta keys. Well, today we're delivering the payload.

All you have to do is sign in to our community site Eurogamers and pop over to the COD4 key giveaway page to claim your spot. But you will need to provide your Live Gamertag as it is an Xbox 360 beta test, and you should note only Gold members of the service are allowed to take part.

If you're not already a member of Eurogamers, then registering will only take a few minutes. We're not going to ask you for money or anything like that, and you'll be rewarded with lots of lovely features over in community land - like our new Xbox Live integration, for instance.

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare takes the familiar World War II series onto today's battlefield. Infinity Ward are back behind the wheel, and from what we've seen so far it looks nothing short of fantastic.

No good for me as I'm currently in the process of sending back the broken replacement (actually a pretty shoddy refurbishment job) console they sent me, to replace the broken console I sent them...

Yeah, I was quite suprised when I rushed on here this morning to find over 15,000 keys left. I though every man and his dog would be trying to get into the beta.

Maybe as the day goes on things will hot up.

Can't wait to play it though. Sounds scrummy : )

My experience of EG is that most of the people who post during a week day are actually in work. All you need is access to PC, and lets face it, most office jobs give you that.

Hah anyone else feel robbed. Had the day off work today, mooched online and nearly wet myself with excitement when I realised that I could put off the hoovering and play COD all day. Went through it all only to be told I have to wait till monday. Gutted. And hoovering.

Oh well... registered everything at Activision's site so just waiting on their email now.. roll on Monday!

well, i applied for my key at 1ish, got my email a couple of minutes later saying they are patching it (sorry title updating) and ill be able to download it monday once the update has been applied.

Chill out foamy i got my key very early this morning like 1 or 2 AM i think. I don't have a confirmation yet, and the mail says it's on first come first served basis so a few thousand of gamers are before you and me.

I got my key on friday and at the time there was 5000 left. I then got a key for my mate who is still in the dark ages and without a pc on Saturday. However, the number of keys had jumped back up to 12000!! Am i right in smelling a rat???

Obviously the gamespot page only refers to the US because it is an American site but that time is when the beta opens again and talk on the Infinity Ward board suggests that it is a worldwide time when they will start to rollout the keys.

It will no doubt take a while but only a certain number of keys will be released today. They are done in batches, with one per day.

One batch per day, I don't want to cause a scare by someone misreading anything!

yup,i got it from gamespot..what happens is i did it from the link...filled in the little code in cod4beta.co.uk,and i got a email like i did when i got the one from eurogamer

so,i went to do it again,pressed submit,and i was expecting my little code to be there,but instead my 25digit code was there

downloading now,6%in 2 minutes,so faster than most xbox live downloads...995mb

so,go to gamespot and attempt to get two codes,on the second attempt if succesful your 25 digit code should be there

@blowyerbrainsUK - I had the same problem as yourself; there should be an orange 'SUBMIT NOW' button just below the tickbox. It appeared for me when I used Internet Explorer rather than Firefox.

It seems GameSpot are lacking in codes for today though, I received this message upon requesting one:
