Get Batman: Arkham Asylum PC free

When you buy an Nvidia GeForce card.

Nvidia is giving away free copies of Batman: Arkham Asylum for PC.

To get one, you need to buy a GeForce graphics card - either the GTX 260, GTX 275 or GTX 285.

In return, as confirmed by the Nvidia website, you'll get a coupon for a digital download of Arkham Asylum. The coupon will be valid for use between 18th September - 31st December.

Batman: Arkham Asylum is well worth a look, and not just if you're a fan of the caped crusader. Read Dan's review to find out why he thinks the game deserves a big fat 9/10.

Aren't nVidia about to bring out a new range of cards soon anyway? You know for DirectX 11/Windows 7? I personally wouldn't bother buying any graphics card until they're out.

Anyone know how this works? Participating retailers in the link provided by EG ([link url=http://www.nzone.com)]http://www.nzone.com)[/link ] are all American shops, and I can't find any mention of the offer on UK Nzone (uk.nzone.com).

Buying straight from nVidia? With their inferior stock coolers? Hell no!
  • LiveForever #6 3 years ago

Seems like a stock reduction strategy. Reducing the price of the 285 by 50 to 100 would be much better :), i think thats coming anyway.

Nvidia don't sell graphics cards directly, do they?

    /confused

The links all show third-party cards.

Should probably upgrade my pc soon, screw being able to play Batman or any other games, I just want to be able to look at the eurogamer front page without my PC dying
  • skillian #9 3 years ago

The Eurogamer front page regularly used to lag my PC more than Crysis does. And I'm not even joking.
  • Nephirion #10 3 years ago

I am sure there will be many with a free version that havent bought a new gfx card ^^

Nothing lags more than crysis. Even with a 285 on high settings there are sections were the frame rate drops to below 10, mostly in the snow. Would really like to see the crytek QA teams PC's. It still looks amazing too bad gameplay suffers due to fps. Will the 300 be able to run crysis fully with no frame loss, it better.
  • skillian #12 3 years ago

Well, it depends on your system and your settings.

I have an old Athlon X2 CPU and completed Crysis with no real framerate problems on my PC on medium-high, but GTA 4 and Arma II have a framerate so low they are basically unplayable at any setting.

I played Crisis on a GTX 8800 and it ran fine, everything turned on as well. It slowed down a bit sometimes, but never to the degree you describe. Maybe some other issue?

I probably mean more that the ones on sale will have the stock coolers. Big and clunky.

  • LiveForever #15 3 years ago

Well fighting the aliens in the snow after coming out of the ship, with lots of rockets and grenades, slows the game alot, res 1920 by 1200 24 inch screen nvidia 285 intel 8500 4 gigs of ram vista 64 dx10, hardest difficulty, works fine on medium but not very high, looks totaly different also
