Geon cheers up XBLA
Today's new release.
Eidos's strange-looking Xbox Live Arcade puzzle game Geon: Emotions is due out today and will set you back 800 Microsoft points (GBP 6.80 / EUR 10.30).
Billed as an "abstract sports game", working out happens in Geon is almost impossible through traditional means.
"Will you choose to spread fear among the other players, or unleash a wave of bliss over them with the aim of subverting their cause?" says Gamerscoreblog, teeing it up.
"Play to your emotional strengths. Allow your dark side to dominate, or win through speed, courage, and style. You can be the master of Geon, but you must learn to use your emotions to your advantage."
We'd start by downloading a demo to see what on earth it actually is. Which is what we'd be doing if we weren't in Japan trying not to fall asleep.

heres my description of it - imagine pacman as a board game, imagine its made of glass, an oponent is playing on the underside, you on the top, when you have collected enough pellets you can press a button to go to the oponents side of the board where you can drop these pellets off and "score". You can collect power ups/weapons that you can use to hinder your oponent through the glass, e.g. drop them a trap, or do a big jump that makes them drop some of their pellets.
the rounds are set so that to win you have to be the first to get all the dots...
thats it really...
oh the emotions...well depending on what emotion you choose (emotion selection is a jazzed up word for chracter selection) different poerups will be more effective. I wanted this to be fun, it isnt...

Been playing some guys in the states for ages and it was a really good match, Last Man Standing is crazy.
Being a fan of anything out of the ordinary, I found it pretty good fun.
If anyone here tries to compare it to Space Giraffe your so much mistaken.

Are you forgetting Oblivion GOTY, NHL 08, and Orochi Warriors then?

But I've been playing this game on and off for the last few hours and have really got into it...cool graphics and good gameplay...it's what the XBLA should be about...multiplayer/head to head action.....it's as colourful as Space Giraffe but without the headaches!
What's on XBLA next week?
