probably means they have 10 ideas, not all good ones and they will implement 1 idea each year.

i get the impression that Geo2 is easier than the first 1...especially the achievements...any truth in that?

Well it's taken me a good few goes, to unlock the Wax Off achievement. Smile will take me forever, I suck at that game mode :(

surely if they have 10 ideas, wouldn't it be better for everyone if they made those 10 ideas 10 gametypes and just have the one extra game before thinking up a new lot.

I've only got game over and smile to do now, I almost got game over, then died on all of the last 6 :(

But that way they wont be able to charge us 800Mp for each idea ;) I do indeed agree with you but it'll never happen :(

I have 60G in the original and 160G in the sequel. Im very close to get the game over achievement. So you can say 175G - the last 25 is a bitch to get though (smile achievement).

It's easy to continue with GW: all you need to do is think of a new name, and bam! A "different" version of Geometry Wars.

You guys are too cynical when it comes to what they will add to a sequel (i.e. just one new game mode and a new name, ship it!).

Geometry Wars 2 is, I would say, a near perfect sequel for a Live Arcade game. You've got just the right amount of new game modes as to not disappoint or spoil, the graphics are significantly polished. The co-op and competitive game modes are just right and the leaderboard integration is a nice welcome addition overall. Hats off to Bizarre I'd say.

I'd expect a similar level of development and improvements in GW3. Bizarre make decent, well iterated sequels, they aren't EA Sports.

I hope these 10 ideas take the game into Darwinia style territories, adding depth, and not just 10 ideas for new powerups or explosions.

well, the reason i loved geo wars 1 was that it was so fucking hard...surviving 1 million points is insane at first.

I played the demo of geo 2 and i blazed through it...sure, i am a little more skilled now than first touching geo 1....but it just felt easier. To compare, i booted up geo 1 and i hit a brick wall...just like the old days:-)

So, if this is a sign of things to come (e.g. Geo 3,4,5....10), then i'll pass. Still having a laugh with geo 1.

I dont see your point at all. Getting high on the leaderboards is where the challenge is at and the smile achievement is actually even tougher than surviving 1 million in the original i imagine. A friend Dax XL on live has 200/200 in Geo wars but he really struggles getting the smile achievement in Geo Wars 2. They just made it more bearable overall for most gamers. Smart move imo.

Easier how? Like Geo Wars 1, the modes gradually ramp up in difficulty until you fail. It uses a different system for scoring entirely, so it's hardly surprising that the scores in GW2 are higher. It's just as hard, and some modes are truly punishing.

i agree geo2 is a great game
the fact you dont loose all your multipliers when you die is much better imo

'"It depends on what will work," Cakebreak also added, which might sound like an obvious point'
