Gears of War 3 rumours "total nonsense" News

Epic's Mark Rein has dismissed suggestions the studio is already working on a third instalment in the Gears of War series.

When asked whether the rumours are true, Rein told Eurogamer, "Total nonsense."

As reported by CVG, the rumours appear in this month's issue of US magazine EGM. Word is it'll feature five-player co-op and be out in time for Christmas 2010.

Word from Mark Rein is that's rubbish, though. "We're still working on improvements to Gears 2," he said. Someone should probably tell them it's already out.

What a load of old garbage this man said. Of course utterly predictable fat bald space marine yawn fest gears3 comes out in its predictable cycle not next year but the year after. We all know there WILL be a Gears 3, as the other 2 have had much success.

We had Halo 1 and 2 on the old Xbox with Halo 3 on the 360 and i think the same thing will happen with Gears.

Gears 1 and 2 on the 360 and 3 will come out in 2010 ish, on the new 720...

I would be very happy with just 4 player co-op (it was touted around for Gears2 for some time).

I imagine there are other games coming up which they want to hype up rather than a title that's at least 19 months away.

Gears 2 is a complete, and utterly fantastic game.

They are talking about DLC. You know, that stuff that has kept games like Warhawk alive for years?

It was a misquote. They had started work on the UE3 improvements (fluid bodies, destructability, etc) but not on assets or storyboard for Gears 2.

Just curious, considering they're both from the same stable, don't UT3 and GOW pretty much look the same? I've not gone hands on with GOW you see so can't say.

Yes they really need to fix the glitches in GOW2, it is really ruining the online experience when a lot of players are doing glitches that let you do such things as have an invisible shield that also lets you use any gun with it and have unlimited ammo (no need to reload).

Never mind Gears3- fix the matchmaking first please- tried for 15 min to get in to a public match on player choice last night. 15 mins and no joy. Could find other team mates to get a full tream, but it couldn't find any other teams. Sort it out please Epic!
