I don't see why it's not a 10, but i guess playing the game will soon show what is missing or is badly done.

This game sounds amazing I really cannot wait to play it!!! I think it is an awesome franchise and is a slick, gory, beautiful but most importantly FUN shooter with an absolutely outstanding multiplayer where your life really matters. Any game where you get a chainsaw attached to the end of your gun has got to be good! There will always be haters who dismiss something just because it is successful but I couldn't give a toss and will enjoy this game for hours, days, weeks, months and probably years to come.

EDIT: For spelling, but also, the review praises it across the board (good story, visually appealing, nicely staged and timed) and there doesn't seem to be any downfalls so why the 9? Doesn't really matter but this does seem a little strange. Maybe because it is a sequel?

Expected score to a great game. mine is preordered since August.

Fuck sake, the splitting up parts were the fucking worst parts of the original campaign. In a game built around co-op so much why hell would you actively choose the split players apart from one another?

Apparently it has better storytelling. This is actually important to me - if Gears 1 was more coherant, I'd have given that a 9. So it seems fair to me.

funny how if games dont get 10's now people are a little dissapointed.. if only EG saved all those 10's they gave out back in the day (and recently) .. a 10/10 rated game should have been left for the 'perfect' and 'ultimate' experience

It was a good harvest this year. About 5 on 360, 2 on DS, 1 on Wii and 3 on PC. I am happy.

I'm not like the sound of the "frequently subterranean" bits, mainly because that was my least favourite part of the original game, but otherwise it sounds exactly what I expected, i.e. it's an improved version of the original game. That's good enough for me. Anyone know if the campaign is actually longer this time round... I noticed the review mentions there are still only 5 Acts?
