I'm only looking forward to playing the campaign solo and in splitscreen co-op because I just didn't like the online modes at all, I found them dull but then I'm not a big fan of online shooters anyway so that's no surprise. I'm expecting the campaign to be more of the same but a little grander in scale and a little prettier but that'll suit me fine so long as the last level is better than the lacklustre one in the first Gears. A decent story and script would be nice this time round too. ;)

Awesome, can't wait! Sounds really good and I reckon Horde mode could be a lot of fun (/is reminded of marines survival in that MP mode of AvP). The main thing I hope they change this time around in multiplayer is ranked achievements: get rid of them! CoD4 did it the right way!

I love Gears, and not really for the single-player/campaign, the MP is KILLA! I played the first Gears through twice, on hard and then insane. But I played the online MP a lot. I am hoping that they pay careful consideration to the achievements, they should not underestimate how important these are to a lot of the hardcore fans. Whether you agree with achievements or not - a lot of people play to get them. They need to ditch the weapon achievements of Gears 1 in favour of team-based achievements; this will help the online a lot and move people away from individual weapons awards towards great team play.

They have already said that all the achievements are obtainable in either single or multiplayer modes.

Spot on mate, i didn't see what all the fuss was about with the multiplayer. i played the campaign co-op through each difficulty level and loved it! and i agree that Act 5 wasn't the best ending. Its good to hear that they're taking the story really seriously this time, i.e. making it one that you really feel compelled to see through to the end |

WHAT?! lay off the crack m8. resident evil 5 has the dumbest zombie AI i have ever seen also ugly, ugly character animation - its a revamped resident evil 1 implementing resident evil 4 gameplay, to conclude it is same old herbs, same old ideas with new graphics. |

Lol, lol, lol and more lol at the idiotic editors at EG!! Now that FF XIII is coming to 360 the game its glamourous but when it was a PS3 exclusive all the time it was " we'll see about it" " We'll see if this isnt another CGI and not in-game??? This place its surely full of shit. |

Guys, I think they just meant that it doesn't seem as glamorous because it's already had an iteration on this hardware. Final Fantasy, Resident Evil, Fable, etc, have not. That's all. No need for hostility...

Maybe what they mean is it gets labelled as shooty aliens adolescence and a few of those games don't, even though the characters feature purple haircuts...
Cannot wait personally, the old ba da da da da music really does work well for a good bit of satisfying action and the graphics of the first have yet to be bettered imo...personally i would take more of the same but it does seem they've done a bit of work on the amount of stuff onscreen and destructable stuff, should make one of the best games out there even better...people can hate on em but Epic, Monolith those are the hawt studios right now |

Sigh, Resi 5 is more glamourous than Gears 2 because of the precursors that you are benchmarking against. Resi 5 is light years ahead of Resi 4, Gears 2 not so. Hence the comment from the dev that same generation sequels don't always have the impact. Like Halo 2, lots of meh directed at that by some quarters, still a good game though.

The inclusion of bots is a very nice addition, and I appreciate that the developers - for once - are giving us offline players extra length from the game.
Even if the campaign turns out to be too short (like the original game) at least I can still have some split-screen matches with a mate against some bots. Good stuff. |

Loved the first game, one of the only games since Halo that i've actually played through multiple times.
But am I not the only one who thought the multiplayer sucked balls? it just seemed so random,full of people rolling everywhere. Perhaps I didn't give it chance to click, but unloading a full clip into someone only for the to sprint through your fire and chainsaw you/shotgun you in one go often made me turn it off in disgust. |
