Gears 2 midnight launches detailed
LA event much better than London one.
Microsoft has unveiled plans to host a Gears of War 2 midnight launch bonanza at the GAME store on London's Clarence Street.
At 12.01 am on 7th November, swarms of fans will be let in to accost special guest Liam Sharp, who does the Gears of War comic book.
Microsoft Game Studios staff will also be there handing out merchandise, including limited edition Xbox 360 consoles, Zunes, comics, books, posters and more.
But that all sounds a bit rubbish compared to the Los Angeles launch, which boasts Xbox Live vocalist Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb and Cliff Bleszinski. Not to mention actors John DiMaggio (Marcus Fenix), Lester "Rasta" Speight (Cole Train) and Carlos Ferro (Dom); or the real-life Delta Squad wearing costumes from Nightmare Armour Studios and patrolling the shop.
All North American buyers will also be given an Xbox Live token to unlock a gold Hammerburst gun for use in Gears of War 2 multiplayer. But Europe can presumably make do with a kebab on the way home.
Keep an eye on the official Gears of War 2 site for mention of midnight openings near you.

Preorder from Gameplay, who apparently have a reputation for sending a day early, so hopefully I'll be playing this thursday... Don't let me down!
