Gearbox unveils Borderlands News

Brothers in Arms developer Gearbox Software has unveiled its new first-person shooter Borderlands.

The wraps were taken off in US magazine Game Informer, which describes the game as a science-fiction shooter with role-playing elements, or "Diablo meets Mad Max".

Little else is known about the game, other than it will support four player online co-operative play.

Borderlands is due out on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360. Dates and publishers are yet to be announced.

There has been very little info on it.

I'd prefer if it was after xmas. Too much to play anyway.

It won't be out before Xmas. It would have been dated by now, and Ubi will want to make sure the hype engine gets to work on this one months in advance.

Last I saw (admittedly a while back now) Gearbox were having a real pain getting the frame rate halfway decent.

BTW What's up with all these post-apocalyptic games being announced? First Rage, now Borderlands...
