Gearbox discusses new project News

Gearbox chief Randy Pitchford has worked himself into an excitable mess over a mysterious new project.

He whipped a post together on his website forums asking for outside help on the game, promising he could not possibly "oversell" its potential.

"I've started a new project. It's big," boasted Pitchford. "It's, like, look-at-our- line-up-and-imagine- something-even-bigger kind of big.

"I'm Directing it myself. I can't mention it publicly yet. When you find out what this is, you'll likely agree that I can't oversell this one."

Gearbox is currently working on meaty projects Brothers In Arms: Hell's Highway and Borderlands, as well as Samba De Amigo and an untitled Aliens FPS. No wonder Pitchford is looking for a helping hand.

He will also be swaggering around GDC in a couple of weeks to tap up his "kick-ass team" and chat to us about all those other games. Hopefully a little more information will spill out then.

Developers of the world: STOP ANNOUNCING THINGS WHEN YOU HAVE NOTING TO ANNOUNCE.

Yes, we know, you make games, that is your job. Do not talk about it untill you have something concrete.
We can imagine you think it's great otherwise you wouldn't be doing it.

Agreed. Stop publically announcing nothing at all. It aint very impressive.

I mean, honestly, i'm playing nothing right now. It's actually kind of boring, like posting pointless comments nobody will ever read on some random gaming website.

If it indeed is set in the Halo universe, i hope it will continue from the cliffhanger ending we got in 3. Besides that, i hope i will be announced soon 'cause i'm NOT the patient type of person ;)

Err???

If you mean more MC.... I think he will be back but not in the next installment. My guess is it will be Bungie that will handle the Chief in a new adventure.
