Loved Fable, liked Knothole, can't wait for more. And to think, a month after completing it (it was an Xmas game) I was going to retire it from the disc tray... now I might as well leave it in till I've seen the future :-)

British, fun and provided a real meaningful choice(so rare in RPGs) that led people to whine it was a "bug". Ahaha brilliant!

Knothole Island was a proper rip-off. I enjoyed Fable 2 a whole heap but the dlc can fo.

Fable 2 I loved, Knothole Island was…okay. I enjoyed it, but it was too short and way too easy. I’d like to see some much longer stuff now, a good five hours or so and I’d be happy, more of a high quality and I’d be ecstatic.

@Britesparc: DISC TRAY??! The game is practically unplayable (and noisy as hell) unless it's installed to the hard drive. Not to mention the horrific lag when you go into the terribly designed menu.

Knothole was a waste of time and money. Unless you really like flit switches. The biker costume and Halo rifle were cool, but certainly not worth 800 points.

I think the big question everyone wants to ask about Fable 2 is 'is that it??'. Seriously, there is not that much to it. There's lots of stats and ratings but they're largely meaningless, marriage and children are pointless, impressing villagers is pointless, the dog is especially pointless (it does nothing except point to treasure and get hurt, I regretted levelling it up as now it goes mental in every new area, barking incessantly for me to dig up more worthless junk) and the dialogue is hateful.

The second question (often asked) is 'isn't the dog like 30 years old by now?' Really. And for a labrador, that's three times its lifespan.

If that is the most worrying mystery Fable 2 has to answer for, I don't think any of us will be losing too much sleep.

Lets just pretend the dog is magic. There is loads of magic in Fable 2, so its not a big ask. Problem solved.

Erm, actually I do have it installed, as it's quicker and quieter, but you still need the disc in the tray to play it. Otherwise, y'know, it won't work.

And yeah, the dog being decades old never bothered me. I just figured it was a "Hero Dog", like you're a Hero Human.

Don't knock Fable2, I did it once and was nearly hung by the goolies. The Fable defence force are a vocal bunch, personally I thought it was the biggest let down (gaming wise!) of last year.. closely followed by fallout! Boring repetitive and the worse ending to a game ever, I think PM should play Resi 5 thats how to end a game!

The quality of the ending is subjective though, as anything it’s merely a matter of taste. I thought the ending fitted the game well, it’s a simple choice, why should everything have to end on a massive boss battle? You’re confronting your enemy when he is at his most vulnerable, and as such an easy kill (or watching him die quickly) so lends itself to the situation in hand. The man isn’t immortal, he isn’t a hero, so why shouldn’t he die from one shot to the head?

I actually quite like Fable 2 despite being fairly disappointed with Fable 1 and only got it because my GF wanted it for Christmas. I think I ended up playing it more than her.

I love Fable 2 and had absoloutly no problem with the ending. Instead of going with the predictable all powerful final boss, they changed up the formula. It wouldn't have made any sense to have an incredibly powerful Lucien, it wouldn't have suited his character.

It wasn't a perfect game, but it was a damn enjoyable one.

I look forward to any new content they put out, gives me an excuse to go back to Albion and get immersed once again.

I hope no one a Lionhead read this, but they can actually put any price. I'm in.

To be honest: I grow tired of all these DLCs. Some years ago we got a whole game for our money's worth. There was a beginning and an end to a game. Then there was a glistening hope of a follow up in the distant future where everything in the game would be bigger and better. Those were the days! Instead of wasting all these manhours on some short-lived 'extension' (i.e. things left out in the original game), get us a real follow-up like Fable III or some brand new IP (be original for once?). I'm quite frankly fed up with all these DLC and I boycot them from now on. Even Fallout 3 didn't get my extra money, and I loved that game. In hindsight it was a good move from what I've read on forums ;-). That or I may be getting too old...

Maybe for console games, but certainly not PC. DLC, add-ons, expansions have been around long before this generation of consoles.

@ronuds: I know; but add-ons were REALLY add-ons. You could spent hours and hours in them and it almost felt like a whole new game. The Fable 2 (1 1/2 hour playtime) and Tomb Raider Underworld (1 hour playtime) DLC I recently bought were..well...boring, short and overpriced. It's the fact THAT I'm still used to the PC add-ons that I find these things on consoles a total rip-off. It's just pocket-filling bits-and-bytes and the companies know it. And most of us fall for it too. In a pitt. With bugs.

People that don't like Fable 2 and Fallout 3 must have something wrong with their brains. Like them missing or something.

Shivering Isles for Oblivion comes to mind as a large expansion. DLC generally forms an expansion sized chunk by the end. Nor has it really, ultimately, precluded excellent games that, upon release, stand up as complete and excellent.

True, but that did cost 2400 MP and you got your money's worth out of that. If felt like a proper add-on. But 800MP for 1 hour extra playtime which should have been included in the game anyway (and probably was, I'm looking at you Fable 2 and Tomb Raider), that's just a plain rip-off. I'm not trying to generalise, but I see a worrying trend that full games get slimmed down for a full price and that later on the companies try to steal some extra money for things which should have been (or actually were) in the game proper. That said, I've put away my 360 and (if it should come, my fourth refurbished) PS3 away for a while. Somehow I just grew tired of the whole gaming business. It just can't captivate me anymore like it used to do. I really must be getting old. Heck, I trimmed my chest hair today because it was getting a bit too long while my wife shaved my back. I hate getting old.

@spekingur: I love Fallout 3, I tend to love games like this in general, I have wasted hours just messing around in GTA4 (and I mean just wandering exploring, not kill rampages). But in Fable there's no point. The smug, desperately wants to be Ben Elton/Monty Python dialogue makes me want to murder everyone. The combat is tedious and unfulfilling. The story is gibberish ("magical dog" aside, the way it just throws years passing around in the Spire is rubbish) and the characters one dimensional. There are loads of cute amusements but they are all boring and repetitive, the world is tiny and not worth exploring... I really wanted to like it as I love the idea behind it, but you're really forced to make up your own reasons for caring about any of it as the game certainly does nothing to involve you.

I played Fable 2 so much that it broke my 360 :(

I was going to stick with my PS3 but this is making it really hard. Why can't they release it on the PC.
