GDC: New Fable II DLC within weeks
Molyneux spent "more time" on this one.
Lionhead boss Peter Molyneux has said that more Fable II downloadable content will be released within weeks.
"The next DLC comes out in the spring. We're in the spring now so don't think months, think more like weeks," Molyneux told Kotaku at GDC. "It's called See the Future."
"[Knothole Island] was done very close to Fable II and the team was tired and we sort of pushed ourselves to get something out early for the fans. This time we've taken a little bit more time on it, it's a little bit more story driven.
"It answers some of the questions if you're a real fan of Fable," he added. "It's going to test you a little bit emotionally as well. But I think the real unique thing here is it starts to tease and hint at what it starting to happen in the world of Albion and what is happening in the future."
And that future, Molyneux hinted, may extend past Fable II, which is hardly a surprise, after funny-man Jonathan Ross blurted that he had been offered a voice role in Fable III.
Peter Molyneux returns to the GDC stage this evening at 9.30pm GMT to deliver his talk on "Lionhead Experiments Reveal". We won't be reporting live from this session, but will cover any important news such as more details on See the Future.
Molyneux, however, has already announced that he won't be talking about the "unbelievably ambitious" project in development at Lionhead.
GDC had once been poised as the time and place for the reveal, although Molyneux said Microsoft wants sufficient "shock and awe" when the wraps finally do come off.
Fable II expanded back in January with the Knothole Island DLC. There's no set price for See the Future yet, but a copycat price of 800 MSP (GBP 6.80 / EUR 9.60) makes sense.

I accidentally erased all my saves the last time so time to start again.

I think it helped to play it along with the main game, rather than tacked on at the end.

Loved Fable, liked Knothole, can't wait for more. And to think, a month after completing it (it was an Xmas game) I was going to retire it from the disc tray... now I might as well leave it in till I've seen the future

British, fun and provided a real meaningful choice(so rare in RPGs) that led people to whine it was a "bug". Ahaha brilliant!

Knothole was a waste of time and money. Unless you really like flit switches. The biker costume and Halo rifle were cool, but certainly not worth 800 points.
I think the big question everyone wants to ask about Fable 2 is 'is that it??'. Seriously, there is not that much to it. There's lots of stats and ratings but they're largely meaningless, marriage and children are pointless, impressing villagers is pointless, the dog is especially pointless (it does nothing except point to treasure and get hurt, I regretted levelling it up as now it goes mental in every new area, barking incessantly for me to dig up more worthless junk) and the dialogue is hateful.
The second question (often asked) is 'isn't the dog like 30 years old by now?' Really. And for a labrador, that's three times its lifespan.

If that is the most worrying mystery Fable 2 has to answer for, I don't think any of us will be losing too much sleep.
Lets just pretend the dog is magic. There is loads of magic in Fable 2, so its not a big ask. Problem solved.

Erm, actually I do have it installed, as it's quicker and quieter, but you still need the disc in the tray to play it. Otherwise, y'know, it won't work.
And yeah, the dog being decades old never bothered me. I just figured it was a "Hero Dog", like you're a Hero Human.

Don't knock Fable2, I did it once and was nearly hung by the goolies. The Fable defence force are a vocal bunch, personally I thought it was the biggest let down (gaming wise!) of last year.. closely followed by fallout! Boring repetitive and the worse ending to a game ever, I think PM should play Resi 5 thats how to end a game!

Do you know, I actually felt a bit sorry for you with all the stick you were taking the last couple of days. To be honest that last comment from you is completely out of order and I think you should say sorry.

It wasn't a perfect game, but it was a damn enjoyable one.
I look forward to any new content they put out, gives me an excuse to go back to Albion and get immersed once again.

I hope no one a Lionhead read this, but they can actually put any price. I'm in.

Maybe for console games, but certainly not PC. DLC, add-ons, expansions have been around long before this generation of consoles.

I bought, played and enjoyed Fable and so bought, played and indeed enjoyed Fable 2. I will look forward to any new dlc for the game. But if I worked at Lionhead I would, from time to time, find it necessary to give Peter Molyneux a real good hard smack in the face!
Heh! That'd be one hell of a perk! I can imagine the acceptance interview.
"You have a choice, free healthcare, a company car and an extra 10% contribution to your pension or... you get to smack Peter in the face every now and then."
Tough choice.
I can't wait for this, excellent game.

Well it might have been, if it hadn't been plagurised from Withnail and I O-o

Shivering Isles for Oblivion comes to mind as a large expansion. DLC generally forms an expansion sized chunk by the end. Nor has it really, ultimately, precluded excellent games that, upon release, stand up as complete and excellent.

I was going to stick with my PS3 but this is making it really hard. Why can't they release it on the PC.
