GC: GHIII goes international News

Xbox 360 PlayStation 3 Wii
News by Robert Purchese

23 August, 2007

Activision has revealed an international track list for Guitar Hero III, in an effort to show us that people all over the world really like it.

Die Toten Hosen are in it, who friend of Eurogamer Keza MacDonald insisted were awesome when they came out to show off SingStar: Die Toten Hosen at the Sony GC press conference yesterday.

We don't know who they or most of the rest of these are, but they must be good.

  • Minus Celsius (by Backyard Babies)
  • Hier Kommt Alex (by Die Toten Hosen)
  • In the Belly of a Shark (by Gallows)
  • I'm in the Band (by The Hellacopters)
  • Avalancha (by Heroes Del Silencio)
  • Take This Life (by In Flames)
  • Ruby (by Kaiser Chiefs)
  • Closer (by Lacuna Coil)
  • Generation Rock (by Revolverheld)
  • Mauvais Garcon (by NAAST)
  • Radio Song (by Superbus)

Eurogamer TV will be accidentally-on-purpose bumping into Guitar Hero creator Kai Huang at this year's Games Convention, and wants your questions to throw at him.

Just pop over to our EGTV group and get whatever you want to know off your chest.

Guitar Hero III will be available on PS3, 360, Wii and PS2 later this year, with a DS version planned for 2008.

When You Were Young by The Killers also seems to be in the game, so the copies are going to be practically flying off the shelves here. Can't seem to get enough of those 2 songs.

Aside from Ruby, the rest seem like bonus tracks to me. And it's a pretty diverse list of songs too after listening to them so I'm happy. Having tracks in other languages though can only strengthen people's suggestions that you can see some J-Rock in the game. Especially with a playable J-Rock character in the game called Midori.

P.S. The In Flames song is bloody awful. It'll be a case of play once and never again.

Aw, com'on Eurogamer. Raise your eyes and look east, towards rest of Europe. You could learn a lot from us. :-)

I don't even know that song, but I'd sure as hell rather play that rather than some death metal shite.

About time mainland european music was recognised in guitar hero. British rock is terrible. Always has been, always will be. Now about how some Rammstein please.

Actually there's some more news. 2 other main setlist songs have been confirmed. Santana's 'Black Magic Woman' and Pat Benatar's 'Hit Me With Your Best Shot'. The latter will appear in a 5 track demo that will come with the XBox 360 edition of Tony Hawk's Proving Ground. The demo will also include

- Lay Down by Priestess (master track)
- Even Flow by Pearl Jam (master track)
- The Metal by Tenacious D (master track)
- Rock You Like A Hurricane (cover)

Also, don't know how true this is, but apparently 'Sunshine of your Love' by Cream is also in the game (!! :D)

Fuck me. They put In Flames in there, then completely ignore the actual good music they made (pre-Reroute). Man, an opportunity for total awesomeness missed there.

Spanish glam-dark-rockers Héroes del Silencio. These are actually pretty popular there. Not my cuppa but hey, different strokes for different folks.

In Flames in GH3 is absolutley fantastic. Maybe not the BEST song, but its totally okay. They're one of the best bands in the world i think. Lyrics, melodies.. everything.
