GameCity Alan Wake event cancelled
Remedy's Sam Lake denied by volcano.
VOLCANO WATCH: Casualty number two! Nottingham's GameCity has had to cancel a special Alan Wake event because special guest Sam Lake can't fly from Finland to the UK.
The great Eyjafjallajökull ash-cloud in the sky permits none passage.
GameCity had arranged the Alan Wake extravaganza for this Saturday at the Broadway cinema. Lake, writer of the game, was going to show Alan Wake before fielding questions and revealing what life at developer Remedy is like.
Find out more about Nottingham's GameCity over on the official website.

Reminds me of David Cage. Why would a games designer adopt a "stage name"?

But surely his name is still Sami Jarvi?
Rikki Lake doesn't change her name to Sulphur Jarvi when she visits Finland (thats what google says anyway - the sulphur bit, not Rikki Lake's holiday plans).

It's Järvi not Jarvi. ä is a distinct letter in the Finnish alphabet rather than simply an accented a, and appears after y in the dictionary. It's an important distinction in Finnish. Still stupid stage name, given the simple Wake/Lake rhyme.

This is true.
Wish I was called Sam Lake... instead of Senior Bertram Mischief McTurvey. I'd get so many chicks with a name like that.

"Does Sam Lake always look as constipated as he did in Max Payne?"
I still have an old, old PC Zone which previewed Max Payne. There was a caption below an image of Max which read something like "Max Payne looks like a bull-dog licking piss off stinging nettles"
This is probably my only recollection of being twelve, other than the film 'Volcano' was not as good as 'Dante's Peak' What a coincidence
