Full Guitar Hero: World Tour set-list

All 86 launch tracks set in stone.

Activision has finally concreted the list of 86 songs to be available on the Guitar Hero: World Tour disc that launches in October. So hopefully they'll stop sending us 15 press releases a week. We hate Sting.

We love Sting really, and he's among those we knew about, although rather a lot of that leaked old track list turned out to be wide of the mark.

Bon Jovi will be there though with "Livin' On A Prayer", which we may or may not have on our iPod, as will Survivor's "Eye of the Tiger". That might also be on our playlist.

There's lots and lots to look through, including those exclusive tracks captured as a result of deals with the to-be-playable rock stars Jimi Hendrix, Ozzy Osbourne and more.

Pull Me Under!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THERE IS A GOD!
  • Kafkaesque #12 3 years ago

Some good stuff on here, I quite like the fact that there are artists I don't know as I might find some new bands to listen to. Beat It solo could be quite interesting with the new tappable part of the fretboard.

    Wings - wtf :S
  • Lemming81 #13 3 years ago

I find some of the song choices confusing. Jimmy Eat World=cool, but not Bleed American? WTF?

Still buying it for Tool though.

+1 to the 'where is the QOTSA?

EDIT: Hang on wasn't Linkin Park - In The End confirmed before now? What happened to that?

  • coojam #15 3 years ago

They seem to get the right bands but the wrong songs...
  • Kyle #16 3 years ago

PULL ME UNDER, PULL ME UNDER, PULL ME UNDER I'M NOT AFRAAAAID!
  • ColdShoulder #17 3 years ago

Not as good as I'd hoped but still strong.
More Skynard, Hendrix and Van Halen = WIN. Oasis can fuck off though, I thought it was guitar hero world tour. Oasis don't have a guitar hero and they can't sell records around the world. :)
  • wewillselfdestruct #18 3 years ago

Wouldn't it have made more sense to release this 24 hours ago so that it might have had some impact on potential first day PS2, PS3 and Wii Rock Band sales in Europe? I bought mine today and there's no way I'm buying another one with another set of peripherals any time soon. I'm not made of storage cupboards, ya know.

Silversun Pickups is tempting. Could this be the first music game I buy?
  • Rodafowa #20 3 years ago

Really disappointing how many songs this shares with RB2.
  • IneptPercy #21 3 years ago

I just wish they would bring back some songs form pervious games, fed up of getting the ps2 out to get some of "more than a feeling" by bosten!!!!
  • Eraysor #22 3 years ago

Apart from Lynyrd, Hendrix and Michael Jackson, the Rock Band 2 setlist beats this one into the floor. I just wish the fake setlist had been true, Megadeth's Tornado Of Souls would have been epic.

EDIT: Good lord, I missed Pull Me Under while scanning down the list. It's worth it just for that!

    Meh, I absolutely loved GH1 & 2 on the PS2 (& 360), but 3 got old fast & I didn't rate the Aerosmith demo.

Personally I prefer Rock Band these days, although I don't think any of them have had as good a set-list as the original Guitar Hero game on PS2 (in terms of the fun-to-play factor). Sure I prefer some of the songs (to listen to) on the more recent titles but as cheesy as some of the tracks on the original where, they were all damn good fun to play. Even the bonus songs. (Behind The Mask & Even Rats in particular)

ZZ-Top, Queens of The Stone Age, Audioslave, Motorhead, Cream, Queen, Hendrix, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, David Bowie, Red Hot Chili Peppers... Hell even Boston & Sum41 were great fun to play, and for me it's never been topped.

    Shame.
  • beastmaster #25 3 years ago

    Stone Rooooses!!!

Now someone do the 12 inch I am the Resurrection and make me happy!
  • Zomoniac #26 3 years ago

Huzzah! Apart from The One I Love and Purple Haze there isn't a single song on there I want to play that isn't on RB1 or 2. Saves me some pennies.
  • Sir_TimAlot #27 3 years ago

    Totally Awesome, nuff said!
  • Zomoniac #28 3 years ago

    @ MiY4MOTO

That long list and no mention of SRV's Texas Flood? The best GH song ever, coming soon to RB DLC :)

  • skybluesam86 #30 3 years ago

    No Rage Against The Machine.

    Gutted.

    This. Definitely.

But - Assassin, One Armed Scissor and L'Via Viaquez FTW!
  • dsmx #31 3 years ago

    Still no Queen, burn them.
  • superledger #32 3 years ago

ABOUT 9 GOOD, WELL KNOWN SONGS. THE REST MAKING UP THE NUMBERS. DISAPPOINTING.
  • Legendash #33 3 years ago

3 Tool Songs!! I just creamed myself. Can't wait to try and get my head round the Vicarious chorus on drums.
  • FooAtari #34 3 years ago

    *yawn*

They have milked the hell out oh GH. Im bored of it already.
  • Daikon #35 3 years ago

Our of Sting's entire impressive song catalogue they pick "Demolition Man"? Hmmmm...
Something by The Police might also have been a better choice.

Still, nice tracklist. It would be nice though if I'd be able to use my GH3 DLC...
  • Daikon #36 3 years ago

GH4 will allow for use of RH2 peripherals.
  • Frosty840 #37 3 years ago

Any word on when there'll be a patch to remove the shitty Coldplay song and all mention of it from the game?

I actually hate Coldplay so much that I'm significantly less likely to buy the game if their shite turns up in the playlist proper.
  • Mjollnir #38 3 years ago

Quite bland and boring if you ask me. A few decent songs but nothing that makes me want to buy it. The same goes for Rock Band 2.

Does anyone else feel the market is saturated now?
  • Davey #39 3 years ago

    Santeria! :D

Go your own way is enough for me, perfect song, with Lindsey's outro

All though the 10 minute odesey that is "I'm so afraid" live would have been awesom

Go Your Own Way's on RB2 though, hence not listing it.
  • Pastici #43 3 years ago

This thread has pretty much confirmed gamers moan for the sake of it.
  • Der_tolle_Emil #44 3 years ago

There are three songs I would really like to play - the rest is just 'meh'. Luckily there is a good selection of Rock Band DLC to help me wait for RB2.
  • Nithron #45 3 years ago

I think the "right artist, wrong song" problem is simply because they have to strike a balance between finding a song that actually sounds good, and a song that would play well in that particular game.

Rock Band seemed to forget this, which is why a lot of the guitar note charts go "Red - Red - Red - Red - Red - Red, Repeat, but with green".
  • Stepharneo #46 3 years ago

Right bands wrong songsin most cases....except everlong obviously.
seems the way with guitar hero, always choose good bands and then they seem to choose a b-side or something fairly crap that hardly anyone knows. for instane, i like assasin by muse...but fuck there are atleast 12 songs by muse that are much better. i get that they don't want to choose songs that are overplayed because they want it to feel fresh but ffs.

(heh tokio hotel....hmmm rockband much, good song though so i don't mind)
  • curtlikesmeat #47 3 years ago

Very mediocre in my opinion, but yeah.

Some really odd choices too, they could have picked about 10 better Stone Roses songs than that. Oh well.
  • themanfromdelmonte #48 3 years ago

Trapped under ice is a good and not obvious choice for a 'tallica track.
  • Beano #49 3 years ago

The set-list seems pretty ok to me but I'm more curious how the songs "feel" this time since GH3 was a letdown compared to GH1+2.
The songs i GH3 seems somewhat "off" and not as natural and intuitive to play. I'm not talking about lag but bad placements of notes which make most songs less fun to play. Songs in Rock Band are on the other side great and fun to play.

I'll be happy to buy GHWT with all instuments if they get it right this time...
  • actionfitz #50 3 years ago

    Metallica - "Trapped Under Ice"

jesus they are really including some classics there ><

make it 'The Four Horsemen' and you'll make me excited again :p
  • QotSAfan #51 3 years ago

    No QotSA?! EPIC FAILURE!

    Had to say it myself.
  • Telepathic.Geometry #52 3 years ago

  • Stratus #53 3 years ago

Nice to see so much love for the Queens on your side of the pond. Here in Canada they are huge. What an amazing band.

Maybe we'll eventually get an entire downloadable album? BTW, I don't see the fuss over the GHIII note charts. I feel like an actual Guitar God when I do finally crack that five star mark on Hard whereas it seems like most gamers can easily do the same with Rock Band on Expert?

If the note charts are any easier (even in the slightest) then I think that GHWT could be my game...
  • bloodwarg #54 3 years ago

rise against i might pick up a version of this with just the guitar
  • BlinkyBear #55 3 years ago

Oh God. L'Via Viaquez? L'Via Viaquez? That might be a sold right there. I have no idea how they play that live, never mind on a video game with plastic buttons.
  • CUTZ_SIX #56 3 years ago

Omg best tracklist ever: tool, sublime, stone roses to name a few. must buy and play for one week.
  • aphexstwin #57 3 years ago

schism for the ton-and-a-half win. tho some of you are missing the one true classic on the setlist.....

YES! BON JOVI FOR TEH EPIC WIN(!)

nah. seriously tho, lennys is a great track to drum to, its pretty simple, that makes it satisfying to play, but wheres the 9min jam freakouts like green grass or freebird? y'know, the proper ankle burners (for a drummer)?

and wheres the epic maiden songs? would love rhyme or even dream of mirrors but would love 7th son....

oh well, at least theres dlc/music store thingy!
  • Beano #58 3 years ago

Any word reg. Rock Band 2 release in Europe?
  • david78 #59 3 years ago

  • Mortey #60 3 years ago

Wahey Love Spreads now there is a guitar Hero!!!! John Squire FTW

No QotSA is very dissapointing, I can only imagine they have decided to go with RB.
  • Blackthorned #61 3 years ago

Really weak - too bad the leaked list wasn't real.

RB trumps it on song list.
  • Blackthorned #62 3 years ago

And why on earth have they chosen Trapped Under Ice?!
  • andywilkie35 #63 3 years ago

fucking hell, Obstacle 1 by Interpol! wasn't gonna get this but NOW i am, fact
  • kangarootoo #64 3 years ago

Something many people seem to be overlooking is that there are over 80 tracks on there. With previous GH discs, I might have liked half of the songs, and thought a few sucked (with the rest being OK). But that was a disc with about 40 tracks on it. If I loved half of these and felt mute about the rest, that is still 40 odd tracks that I love.
  • Fwing #65 3 years ago

    It's all about Mountain Song.

    \m/
  • kinky_mong #66 3 years ago

Yep definitely waiting for RB 2. That utter guff on that list far outweighs the meagre amount of songs I like.
  • Harrihotpants #67 3 years ago

Being a PS3 owner, as a matter of principle RB2 is being given a miss, at least GH have treated PS3 owners with some respect...

+ the instruments are better quality, + the online/downloadable content looks better....

The fulll kits been pre-ordered with the free base guitar from play....
  • Arwin #68 3 years ago

If the pricing of the instruments is acceptable and the reviews of the instruments are good and are probably better than the Rock Band 2 instruments, definitely better than the Rock Band 1 instruments, then I'm getting this, and will use the instruments to play some Rock Band 2 later on (and Rock Band 1 maybe even ... guitars at least should work now, right?)
  • kangarootoo #69 3 years ago

    @Harrihotpants

You know RB on PS3 was patched last thursday and works with GH controllers?

And as far as showing respect goes, it was Activision who previously blocked the use of GH controllers in RB, not Harmonix.
  • Harrihotpants #70 3 years ago

^ I was more worried about the delayed launch/xbox exclusivity of RB1 than the use of the controllers.
  • kangarootoo #71 3 years ago

Ah fair enough. I'm not sure that amounts to a lack of respect though. Guitar Hero would have been exclusive if Activision had been paid enough cash by someone.
  • grussbarbar #72 3 years ago

As a Wii owner, there's almost no contest for me. Who knows when we'll ever get Rock Band 2?
For now, we'll have to compare Guitar Hero World Tour with Rock Band 1, which means more advanced instruments, downloadable content, online play and full customization + the music editor, for a lower price... (I'd say that qualifies as showing more respect. =) )

I have considered buying an Xbox 360 to play both games, but the Wii's free online play is just too good for me personally (with a majority of my friends having Wiis and not Xbox 360s) to pass up on. =)

I'm only waiting for a preview of how good (or bad) the Wiis downloadable content works. Please let us know, Eurogamer!
  • kinky_mong #73 3 years ago

The amount of songs that are on both RB2 and GH:World Tour is a bit worrying. Particularly as many of them are shite (IMO obviously).
