Front Mission Evolved release delayed

Behave like a massive Wanzer this autumn.

Square Enix has announced that third-person shooter Front Mission Evolved will launch on 17th September.

The game is in development for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360. It had been due to launch this spring, but so much for that.

Front Mission Evolved sees you taking control of a huge, customisable robot known as a Wanzer. Single-player and online multiplayer modes are promised, along with "Hollywood style production values" and "war against terror".

Those who live in the Future will also be able to enjoy stereoscopic 3D visuals with the PC version. Exciting times.

You should probably have also added in this article that the game is a break from the turn-based strategic awesomeness of the previous games, and is also likely to be a bit dump.

This is like Dirge of Cerberus all over again.

Loving the tagline, but I agree that they've pretty much ruined this one. I would have happily bought it if they'd stuck to the turn-based style.

This has become a dumb fps, no strategy or thought needed. All being dumbed down to appeal to western market!

    I won't be getting this.

ah man this sucks. First news i've heard of this game. Never had the chance to play any other but 3. Now that was a great game but it seemed they never did release another one over here. Sad day. Sad day indeed.
