Frogger 2 coming to XBLA tomorrow

Joins Capcom shooter Commando 3.

Microsoft is preparing a double whammy for Xbox Live Arcade tomorrow, with the known-about Wolf of the Battlefield: Commando 3 to be offered alongside bouncy sequel Frogger 2.

Frogger 2 is much more colourful and complicated than the original, and even has futuristic things such as mulitplayer for you up to three friends.

Specifically there are around 15 fresh levels to hop your way through, as well as a Race mode to post the fastest level time in and a Jewel Duel where your friends try to steal the gem you're holding.

Commando 3, as you may know, is an isometric shooter from Capcom. Collect power-ups and blast your way to the finish in what looks to be probably the best co-op affair of its type since Monster Madness and Rocketmen, which were both rubbish.

Both Frogger 2 and Commando 3 will set you back 800 Microsoft Points (GBP 6.80 / EUR 9.60).

    Frogger 2 is 800 points... wasn't the original 400 points?!? What's the reason for the two-fold increase in the price... the multiplayer? :?

    Not bothered particularly as I rarely purchase XBLA games these days anyway, most of the stuff isn't to my taste (a lot of it is downright crap, it has to said) and rarely keeps me hooked for more than one go, if I'm lucky it may be as long as ten minutes. I've come to conclude that I'm better off putting the money toward proper games and only buying the really, really good XBLA games which IMO are extremely rare. It's good that Microsoft offer free trial demos though, at least I can try before I decide NOT to buy! :)

    Absolutely Darren it's pretty dire on arcade these days, still gonna get Commando 3 for the SSF2HD beta though. Commando 3 does look pretty poor but I've waited so long for SSF2HD I just HAVE TO have a look. But I'm sure that's why capcom included the beta anyway :)

    I've seen scores between 30 and 50% for Commando 3 so it doesn't look like it's a good game to me. I'm waiting for Bionic Commando personally as that surely must be good. I'd love to see Banjo-Kazooie and its sequel on XBLA too but I guess that's never going to happen. :(

    Doesn't surprise me from the footage I've seen. Selling a crap game off the back of a good one? Naughty, naughty Capcom.....

    Used to actually look forward to arcade wednesdays. To be honest, the last few i've not even downloaded to try them out, such has my faith been shaken. Also, and i know they're re-releases but even so, have just bought mario 64 and ocarina of time on the virtual console and for the price they blow most XBLA releases out of the water (still love rez hd and ikaruga though :)
