Fresh Lost Odyssey content in April

For Japan, anyway.

Microsoft plans to release fresh downloadable content for Lost Odyssey in Japan on 10th April.

It'll involve travelling to a secret underwater research facility in your Nautilus ship, according to Watch Impress, and will cost 400 Points (GBP 3.40 / EUR 4.80).

Judging by a rough translation, the content opens up on disc four and sees you puzzling your way through the facility while fighting things like fish monsters.

The lure for doing all this is an accessory that teaches you a powerful ability. You will need to amass 999 skill points while wearing it to learn the skill, which appears to be something to do with lowering MP consumption to zero.

Microsoft has been contacted for comment.

humm seems a little pointless seeming as most will have finished the game by the time this comes out over here. Same with the Mass effect extra content

You have 20 save slots, so, one will just have to pick one save from Disc 4.
That said, I did buy Blue Dragon's DLC and it was quite poor. I ended up disregarding the DLC completly and just went on playing the "regular" world witht the difficulty pumped up (came in a free DLC), because I really enjoyed the game (I think, and so far - I'm on Disc 2 of LO - it is better).

The accessory is already known about in the various forums and stuff. It's kinda uber ... which hopefully means the boss you have to beat to get it is also suitably uber. Haven't beat the hardest side quest boss (The Immortal) yet, so I'll be expecting more anal raping from this new stuff. ;)

Does anyone happen to know, if you start over again, do you start again with your skills etc on level one again, or does it let you carry them over for the next play-though (like Mass Effect)?

If you start a New Game+, i.e. continue from a completed game save, all characters start at level 50, but everything else is reset. Big list of things that don't carry over: Skills learned, weapons obtained, accessories obtained, rings obtained, characters unlocked.

Basically, it's just like starting a completely new game but because you're level 50, you walk through most fights ...

Edit: Addition of spolier tags, encase anyone complains.

The 360 has actually sold over 500,000 in Japan, as of the begining of this year.
Which isn't bad, considering it's a machine made by foriegn devils.

I just finished Lost Odyssey yesterday. Glad I made and kept that save just before the final boss.
