Fresh footage of GTA IV

Not about races, just places, faces.

Rockstar has drenched the Internet in five new videos of Grand Theft Auto IV, letting us a little closer to the main characters in the game.

There's Roman Bellic, the entrepreneur with a comedic twist; Vlad Glebov, a Russian-born money lender and scary person; and Manny Escuela, a tough but caring community leader.

We're also given advert-style clips for the fictitious network Whiz Mobile and popular watering hole Steinway Beer Garden.

We've popped a batch of fresh screenshots in our Grand Theft Auto IV gallery too, in case you hadn't noticed.

Grand Theft Auto IV is due out for Xbox 360 and PS3 on 29th April.

Among its myriad new features are clever use of an in-game mobile phone so you can phone your friends and prank-call police, as well as alcohol that gets you drunk and makes you fall over and crash cars.

Pop over to our Grand Theft Auto IV gamepage for lots more information.

Can't they just release some proper game play footage and be done with it. The cut scenes are always more fun when you see them for the first time in the game itself.

    After look at the screenshots...

....looks very much like GTA3 and all its done-to-death sequels tbh. Which is a bit of a pity because I got bored of that formula after the second one or so.

I am going to have to start avoiding news about this game, because I'm already quite excited enough at the prospect of having a whole new world to get lost in...

...and batter people with bats in, obviously.

I just love being given the freedom to make my own amusement with the toolset. The storyline is just a secondary consideration, really, for me.

Yeah. Looks marvellous. Noticed last Friday actually when "they who shall not be named" whizzed up a story about this before they left the office... Come on Eurogamer! Stand firm! You KNOW you're the best. Don't let everything slide at beer o'clock and turn into the gaming equivalent of Ain't it Cool News!
