Activision has radioed that more Call of Duty 4 maps will be available for PS3 and 360 this spring.
Plus there will be added "gameplay variety", although the publisher was MIA when we tried to find out what that means. Speculation among the COD4 population points to Capture The Flag.
"We've demonstrated our commitment to delivering the best multiplayer experience in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and that continues with our plans for new downloadable content," said Robert Bowling, community manager at Infinity Ward.
"We're excited about the new maps, and the added gameplay variety, and we can't wait to wrap things up and get online with everyone."
There is also no mention of this content being offered to the PC community - although you might argue that having mod tools, countless servers and more customisable game types negates the need for them.
Desktop defenders were given the Winter Crash map during the Christmas period too, while 360 gamers threw pens at their tellies and said un-festive things about Microsoft.

sweet, i wanna see a multi map of that tv station level. it'd be carnage. will they all be based on levels from the single player campaign?

If they fix the serious issues with the sniper rifles which seem to make the bullets vanish before they reach your target, I'd be happy. I'd be really happy if they made the ACOGs worth using on the snipers, G3, M14, AK47 etc, etc. I'd be a very happy bunny indeed if they did all that and gave you 10 secs of airstrike immunity upon spawning, and made the martyrdom perk a shitload less powerful than a normal grenade/the obvious choice for rubbish players.
Oh, and new maps is good. |

You mean with all the lobby problems and disconnects and lag?? Bah!! Yes, I know a lot of it was to do with Xbox Live being swamped over Xmas but still, its not the best Live multiplayer experience even now, the number of disconnects and amount of lag is still poor! |

really looking forward to the additions, and also sorting the lag which seems to have got really bad last couple of weeks, and late at night for some odd reason.

I don't understand why everyone goes back to the past wanting an old game type CTF. There are loads more exciting modes than that already in CoD4. Isn't the Sabotage mode very similar anyway? One player must fetch the bomb and plant it, and the opposing team has an icon on their HUD showing where the fla....bomb-carrier is.
