French mag points to Red Steel 3

Vitality Sensor support mentioned.

The latest issue of France's Official Nintendo Magazine is apparently reporting that Red Steel 3 is in development at Ubisoft Montreal.

Scans of the magazine floating around the internet say the game has been "confirmed" by the studio.

The short news blurb, which appear under a massive "CHAUD" heading, also casually mentions that the new game will support the Wii Vitality Sensor.

This isn't the first time the Vitality Sensor has been named in connection with a potential future Red Steel game. In a VG247 interview last month, Ubisoft Creative Director Jason Vandenberghe said he'd like to use the device for a "zen mode" where different heart rates lead to different in-game effects.

Now that we think on it, Vandenberghe didn't seem to blink when the VG247 questioner mentioned "the next Red Steel". Perhaps our French friends were simply reading too much into this fact? Curious...

An Ubisoft Montreal representative said she had "absolutely no information and absolutely nothing official about this topic".

You may remember sales of last month's Red Steel 2 being less than inspiring.

Can Ubisoft not pump some of this sequel cash into Beyond Good and Evil 2? Like Red Steel 2, the first one didn't sell well, but unlike Red Steel 2, Beyond Good and Evil was actually great. Just a thought.

Picked up Red Steel 2 from Game for £25 new at the weekend. It lacks a bit of polish perhaps but I'm enjoying it so far.
