Free Red Dead co-op DLC in June

Six missions for four cowboys.

Rockstar has whipped the chaps off a free downloadable addition to Red Dead Redemption called The Outlaws to the End Co-op Mission Pack.

Due June, this adds six new co-operative missions for up to four cowboys.

Three have been revealed so far. Walton's Gold has players hurriedly stuffing a cart with gold before the mine blows; The River sails players on a raft down river towards a rebel stronghold and hefty resistance; and Ammunition has players assault a Mexican siege force that is bombarding the town of Tesoro Azul.

There will also be new multiplayer XP rewards, Achievements and Trophies.

Red Dead Redemption will be released on 21st May for PS3 and Xbox 360.

This is shaping up to be my favourite game of the year.
  • nuanimal #3 2 years ago

Awesome very interesting, but does anyone know if/what standard co-op stuff is? Apart from the free-roam?
  • Kazzahdrane #4 2 years ago

@nuanimal: I think Free Roam is it as far as co-op goes, apart from traditional team multiplayer modes.

If this doesn't get a 10/10 I will personally insult the reviewer in the comments section.

Even though I haven't played it and won't have played it by the time the review is up.
  • Beano #6 2 years ago

Looking forward to this. When will the review embargo be lifted?
  • lordofthedunce #7 2 years ago

Sweet. Looking forward to this. Just hope RDR doesn't 'do an Alan'

Why not give Ellie a chance to come back to the accusations of not being up for big games such as Alan Wake by reviewing Red Dead and proves that she can deliver such righteous judgement?!

  • geeza2020 #10 2 years ago

Out 21st May? So soon... can't wait... RDD looks amazing from what I've seen of it in terms of scope and ambition.

This sounds like a great addition to what is alrady my most anticipated game of the year!

    One thing though...

"There will also be new multiplayer XP rewards, Achievements and Trophies. "

I'm still confused as to why some people say new achievements can't be added to free DLC when others are able to?
  • SniperZoz #16 2 years ago

Just over 2 week to go ... c'mon already!!
  • kangarootoo #17 2 years ago

    @kinky_mong

The rules used to be (not sure if they are still the same) that of the 1000 points all big games have to allocate to achievements, 250 of those points can be held over for DLC, but ONLY if the DLC is free.

For paid DLC, an addiitional 250 points worth of achievements (on top of the original 1000 points) can be added (not sure if that can be repeated, or is a one off).
  • kangarootoo #18 2 years ago

And how about we all agree to talk only about RDR in this thread? I personally don't want to see it turn into the steaming pile of manuare that is the AW thread.

    Pretty please.

+ this post if you agree rather than writing a post saying you agree (as that somewhat defeats the point), and lets never mention the matter in this thread again.

Gay its released 4 days before my exams start
  • makeamazing #20 2 years ago

@GamesConnoisseur don't know if your joking or not (its difficult to tell on these forums as there are quite a few idiots around...) but perhaps AW just isn't a 9 or 10/10 game... get over it.

Anyway great to hear of these co-op free stuff, cant wait for the game :)

On 22nd May I'll be off to Nevada to shoot real guns. Be nice to come back and grab a preowned copy of this though...

@edit: -2? Is that because you think an ash cloud will cancel my flight, or that you disagree with me KILLING THE INDUSTRY by coming back in June and seeing that some fanboy has already played through it and cynically traded it in?

Waits for "it was already on the disc" crowd.
  • EvilMonkey70 #23 2 years ago

I hope the fact that it's free doesn't mean that the missions are really short and lack the quality of the full game. Not that I'm ungrateful in any way - thanks Rockstar this game is going to rule.
  • Aeon #24 2 years ago

@metalangel, I think it's because of the pre-owned thing, Rockstar San Diego worked their absolute asses off to give us the best Western open world game possible and yet you're buying it pre-owned, RSD deserve every penny for their hard work.
  • Geordiemp #25 2 years ago

Will it allow local coop or system link, or will it be online only. Interested in system link.

yawn yawn. here we go with this tired old argument again. So £40 quid that they already have isn't enough then? The poor dears must be starving and living in their offices surviving only on watercooler water and carpet crumbs.
