Free DLC to be released for InFamous

As sales hit the 1.2 million mark.

Fans of electric-powered action adventure InFamous will be getting a free downloadable treat this month.

As of 10th December, you'll be able to download the Gigawatt Blades superpower for free. Previously the power was only available to those who pre-ordered the game.

InFamous was released exclusively for PS3 back in May. Since then more than 1.2 million copies have been shifted around the globe, according to Sony.

Rumours that a sequel is in development began to emerge earlier this year, but nothing official has been announced.

A nice gesture for those who don't already have it. (Not me :( )

I'd been thinking about revisiting this game. It had some rough edges, but was overall a good blast. Now I've got a good reason to go back too :)

I was looking through my games collection the other day with the intention of killing a couple of older titles and getting my platinum trophies, unfortunately I already did Infamous on Saturday otherwise I could have actually used this DLC. Oh well, I guess I'll download it anyway just to see what they were like for a few minutes, I doubt I missed that much for not pre-ordering to be honest.

I only got to the second island of InFamous and slowly stopped playing. I think it was the side quests. They were necessary to make the game easier but got really old after a while!

I got to the 2nd island aswell but i just lost interest when the icons were the same ones as the first island, how many houses can haev listening devices that need removing lol

Really enjoyed this game quite a bit. Certainly no classic, but it was polished and highly playable (better than Prototype, which was out at that time). Had this weapon but didn't use it all that much. Was cool to see enemies fly, tho.

A bit strange that it's taken this long for the DLC to be unveiled, however. Still, it's free.

Well I wonder if these will help me find that one last shard I can't for the life of me find!

Playing this again on Hard mode as evil (on and off while playing other games)... anything free is good, but would welcome an InFamous 2 :)

@bigtechno... i spent ages looking for the last shard, unfortunately the map says shard on the legend but you cannot see them. What ive found was that all of the ones I missed were around the edge of the map... in the sea area etc... take a walk around the edges of the island.. :)

Currently playing Infamous for the first time and got to say, while it has not set any benchmarks for other sandpit games to match, I think it is an enjoyable game. Free DLC is nice to have, although I can't imagine it's more fun than the lightning storm you get (down on D-pad plus Sixaxis control).

The game is going for £15 new now. It is well worth a look at that price although I believe it was worth the £30 I paid for it. Nathan Drake/Star Wars Unleashed/Crackdown is how I'd sum it up.
