Frag Dolls to attempt Vegas 2 record

Will play for 24 hours at i33.

Not content with getting them to write a blog and talk to the press sometimes, Ubisoft is now getting the Frag Dolls to attempt a 24-hour Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 multiplayer marathon on Xbox Live.

The attempt will be at i33, the LAN party event taking place at Newbury Racecourse from 21st to 24th March, and will begin at 10am on Saturday and "finish as and when there is no one left standing - literally!"

If successful, the Frag Dolls taking part - Jam, Kitt and Sarin - will go into the Guinness World Records: Gamer's Edition 2009.

You can even join in and encourage them, too, by sending Live friend requests to Jam FDUK, Kitt FDUK and Sarin FDUK up to 24 hours in advance. Providing you buy the game (hang on - perhaps this is what they are trying to encourage), you can then kill them "across all maps and modes".

We would normally point out that Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 is due out on 20th March for PS3 and 360, and 28th March for PC, but we feel too used to do this.

We will remind you that Ellie worked on the Guinness World Records: Gamer's Edition 2008 though, which probably explains all the typos.

Is this record for longest playing a game for?

If so, didnt the guy who died in Koera playing that japanese MMORPG for like sixty hours win?

Sigh. I'd rather they just got them out.
  • asphaltcowboy #5 4 years ago

Yeah, given that there are loads of scare-stories about people snuffing it from playing for hours/days on end... is it really a good idea?
  • That_Happy_Cat #6 4 years ago

I am concerned that the girls will be put off by the presence of 1200 hardcore lan gamers furiously masturbating behind them

Either that or there's going to be two dubious records broken that day

37 seconds. That didn't take very long :)

That'll do. They deserve it. The frag dolls always show up and masturbate furiously behind me when I go play my Street Fighter III: Third Strike tournaments, so it was high time someone else did that to them so they know what it feels to be treated like a piece of meat.

What the hell is a frag doll? Apart from a record attempting bunch of girls who seem to be the "target" of some man love.

Not sure why they wheel them out every few weeks/months. I guess Ubisoft sponsor them and are now attempting to get some moneys worth out of it. As for the record. I don't know what it's supposed to be. I asked the book guys, who were actually unaware what the record would be. Maybe Eurogamer should go ask them too. I pointed out that it's not like they can play a single game of Rainbow for 24 hours. It's just going to be a series of restarts and game overs surely. Most dedicated gamers could beat them without breaking a sweat.

WoW gold farmers already beat you fragdolls

She should try out for a "playing the most shit Wii minigames in a row" record. :)

Frag dolls deserve nothing but ridicule. Just yet another sign of the i events being long past their best. *sheds a tear*.

Good luck with that, seeing as their friends lists are nearly always full.

Luckily, I have all three of them on mine, and I've met Kitt and Sarin twice.

And most of you are being stereotypical male gamers by acting like a bunch of misogynistic twats.

Doesn't sound like that to me, unless your talking about
1200 hardcore lan gamers furiously masturbating behind them!
Sounds like a lot of gooey love rather than hate.

I would say it's more a) how can a record be broken if one hasn't been set & b) Why can't i get sponsored to play games.

But in defense of male gamers on Eurogamer , have you been here before or is it your first time?
  • Gruff #26 4 years ago

I would attempt it as well, if it was MY job.

    Corporate sell outs

Hello folks. We are setting the world record that's why it's right after the games release. I hope that encourages people together with their mates, contact Guinness and break the record later on.

It was our idea to do it and I'm really looking forward to it. It's not actually the first gaming world record we've taken part in. Guinness have strict rules about how FPS marathons are carried out. We'll have an adjudicator and medical staff that change shifts every four hours as well as independent witnesses so I don' think our health is at risk.

As for how the iSeries mob get on with us well as we've been to several iSeries events and won the pub quiz there, everybody's been real nice every time so i'm sure they will be again. Thanks for your concerns though :)

I'll be cleaning out my friends list 2 days before the event so if anyone would like to keep me company on there please send me over a request.
