Fracture, Mercs 2 demos now live

Download them, if you've got an Xbox 360.

Two new demos are now available for download from Xbox Live.

First up is Fracture, the third-person shooter that lets you deform the landscape. It's out on Xbox 360 and PS3 next month.

Or you could give Mercenaries 2 a go. The demo weighs in at 1.22GB, according to Major Nelson and the ESRB warns it features "TEEN-RATED LANGUAGE, USE OF ALCOHOL USE OF TOBACCO" and "VIOLENCE". Thanks for that.

Mercenaries 2 is out now on PC, PS2, PS3 and Xbox 360.

Funny how tobacco and alcohol are considered more of a hot potato than guns! Actually a hot potato can be quite dangerous too

Fracture is an MP demo is it not? I saw a video of the multiplayer... it looked freakin' ballistic! Nice modes too.

Pleasantly suprised by Fracture, better than I've been expecting. It does feel a bit contrived but hopefully this is down to it being a training level and the terrain deformation possibilities expand further than what you get to achieve in the demo, you know - let you be a bit more creative and freeform in your approach to tasks later on in the game. If not it's a missed opportunity and I'm sure EG will tell us so.

Mercs 2 is kind of wierd.

I got as far as the save the church mission and somehow in the course of saving a church from a bunch of tanks I managed to anger the faction I was working for. I didn't do this by killing any of them (that would have been too logical), nope instead I managed to do it by killing an enemy tank and having the faction guy walk into the explosion....yep you read that right apparently any suicide in the game is my mercs fault!

    Does anyone test these games!

Edit: This is the retail version not the demo...the demo probably works better

Out of the two of them , it was fracture which was the most fun to try and will no doubt buy it at some stage.

Tried Fracture last night but couldn't understand why the game lets you deform the terrain only to put invisible walls everywhere to stop you exploring the level fully. That and the game constantly taking control away to highlight the next objective made it rather frustrating.

I didn't think much of Fracture at all to be honest. Downloaded Mercs 2 last night, will play tomorrow, but not getting my hopes up for that either!

Mercs is awful looking. Played 20 mins of the actual retail game and I was convinced my 360 had suddenly changed into a PS2.

and what the fuck is with the controls??? you have to use face buttons for driving and not the triggers. This game should have been delayed further, maybe even indefinitely.

I would have to say that this is sooo bad it doesn't even rate as being even a rental job.

Thought the Fracture demo looked decent enough, and the controls were responsive, but I was disappointed to find theat the terraforming weapon only worked in select areas. Sorta defeats the purpose imo. Design-wise and storywise it does seem a bit too generic. Doubt I'd be buying it, despite the demo being somewhat fun.
I was having too much fun with the Burnout update to care, tho.

Tried Mercs - rubbish graphics, sloppy across all visuals bar front-end to be honest. Controls weird - thumbs down.
