The Road director John Hillcoat involved.

Fox Network will air an animated Red Dead Redemption film this Saturday in the US.

The special is being bossed by The Road director John Hillcoat and will last 30 minutes, according to Futon Critic.

Specifically, Red Dead Redemption (the animated film) will air at 11pm CST or 4am BST, depending on where you live.

Red Dead Redemption is Rockstar's new openworld Wild West romp. The game's out for PS3 and Xbox 360 on 21st May.

Accordign to VG247 (this was posted yesterday), The film will be created using Red Dead Redemptions actual In game engine... It's effectively a machinima, very interested in seeing how this works despite not having a great interest in the game itself.

i liked the Proposition a lot.

The Road was over-dramatic, over-acted, far-fetched cobblers. Worst film I've seen in ages.

I've seen that rumour before, but have found absolutely bugger all to confirm this, and the music int he trailers sounds nothing like Cave/Ellis.

Anyone seen Hillcoat's 'Ghosts of the Civil Dead'? A very strange and messed up film. Also sampled in a Therapy? song (if you remember the glory days of early 90s, heavy irish rock).

Not seen The Road yet, but it's one of my favorite novels, and with Hillcoat as director & Ellis and Cave on score duties, I'd be disappointed if it was anything but stellar.

Would be nice if we could get some clarification on the date, every other news source says May 15th but Eurogamer says tomorrow... Hmmmm...
