Forza 3 Summer Velocity pack released

10 new cars for 400 MSP. One free.

Microsoft has released the Summer Velocity Car Pack for Forza Motorsport 3 today, so if you're running low on cars, listen up.

The new pack costs 400 Microsoft Points (£3.40 / €4.80) and can be had from the Xbox Live Marketplace immediately.

The 103MB download introduce 10 new cars - the Lotus Evora Type 124 Endurance Racecar, the Mercedes-Benz SLK 55 AMG, the BMW Motorsport X6M, the Morgan Aero SuperSports, the Bertone Mantide, the Mazda Mazdaspeed 3, the Ford Fusion Sport, the Subaru Legacy B4 2.5GT (all 2010 models) and the 2009 Chrysler Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8.

Or you can just download the Peugeot 308 RCZ for free.

Microsoft has kept up a steady stream of Forza Motorsport 3 DLC since the game's release last year. Last month we have the Exotic Car Pack, April brought the Road & Track Car Pack, March gave us the Jalopnik Car Pack, and before that we had new tracks.

    first lol

edit : with GT5 prologue, new car packs were free to download
and with GT5 the package of cars is more complete than ever...

I just hate this way of treating gamers, with games like forza, NFS, codemasters racing games...etc the game is sold for 70$ but to get the full experience you need to spend at least 100 $....

I hope GT5 wont do the same.....

Ok now : first + forza vs gt comparison, I am expecting huge amounts of negative votes for my post...but you know what ? I dont care lol

Still waiting for the Mercedes SLS here.

Every time a DLC pack comes out, I get my hopes up, but they keep getting dashed.

I'm guessing it doesn't take Turn 10 half a year just to create one car then! ;)
  • Bloobat #4 2 years ago

@SpankmasterC, is that aimed at GT5? because when it is released you will S*** your pants at its epicness!

Good for Xbox owners though, nice too see DLC even if it is not free.

Don't be silly, GT5 isn't going be released.

I've had Forza 3 sitting on the shelf for months now. I don't understand why it hasn't gotten its hooks into me yet. I was a total Forza 1 fanboy and liked Forza 2 just fine as well. Somehow I get bored when I start playing Forza 3. Maybe it's the way the upgrade system tends to play itself. The addictive RPG progression of the previous titles is sort of lost on me. Maybe it presents itself better later in the career?

tempted to get forza 3 but i get soooooo annoyed when i mess up a corner or someone rams me off the track lol

looks good and demo is cool......but fustrating

I had the same problem. But I know exactly why I stopped playing. For a start I disliked too many of the tracks. There's one set in America which is just unbearable. A racing game is not about the cars for me, it's about the tracks. Cars are cars, and ultimately most of us end up with a few favourites, and the rest are a complete waste of space.

The other issue for me was the way Turn 10 set up the track times leaderboards. In Forza 2, which was far superior as a game, the leaderboards were based on race disciplines. In this new one the race times are for each track, if you know what I mean.

And a final reason for me, which I doubt effects hardly any one. I will not race online with any arcade settings. I race with every driver aids off. Sadly, as I found out in F2, people can't race like that. They don't know how to set up cars properly and have to slam the brakes on at corners.

@chub, gt5 cover car, keep wishing! i dont like this dlc culture, games cost enough, especially here in blighty. dlc is not a 'thank you' to fans, its an excuse to get your money. and devs should put the time and effort in to get them on the disk. or two, in forza 3's case. yes, gt5 is taking years but the results will be worth it.

May be they should spend time fixing the horrid sound glitches that make the game unplayable???
  • asharkman #12 2 years ago

I kinda find it funny that people are comparing this game to a game that hasn't even been released.
    Get over gt5 guys.
    It's never coming out.

    @DavoTheDiv_2010:

What horrible sound glitches that make the game unplayable?

    Never happened to me.
  • Breach #14 2 years ago

I only play Forza 3 occasionally now and i do not have that many in-game credits.

If they want to sell a lot of these car packs, they should make it easier to get the credits to buy the cars.

  • Darren #15 2 years ago

@DavoTheDiv_2010 - That horrid sound you're hearing is perfectly normal... it's the Xbox 360's DVD drive at full-speed!!! ;)
  • Breach #16 2 years ago

Yep i dont understand the moaning either.
It's not like a map pack for CoD where you are simply unable to play in the same game as those that have purchased the DLC.
  • BBIAJ #17 2 years ago

    @Darren:

Not if he's installed it it isn't ;o)
  • iamtheoneneo #18 2 years ago

Fuck the cars when are we going to see new tracks!!!!!
  • aphexstwin #19 2 years ago

@tigerstyle, i got fucked over in forza 2. i was competing in a c class tourney in a 206rc. i qualified highly and won my first race. next race i got annihilated by 7 renault 5 turbos, which were a dlc car for forza 2. so while there may have been 400 cars or whatever, to have a chance of winning, i needed dlc, which is fundamentally wrong imo. i stopped playing f2 online after that
  • secombe #20 2 years ago

    @aphexstwin

The opposite is true in Forza 3, if you're racing to win, the default 'Leaderboard Cars' are still miles ahead of 99% of the DLC released so far. Unfortunately the game gives AWD cars a massive advantage, hence why Audi S5s etc dominate.
  • aphexstwin #21 2 years ago

hate the leaderboard cars syndrome. i havent done any mp racing in f3, or really tracked my progress through leaderboards because i want to drive my line and not get penalised for it. but yeah, the phenomenon was apparent in f2, us muscle cars the same class as superminis/hot hatches? please...
  • Macross #22 2 years ago

Ive played it online plenty, i have no idea about any glitches or not, but then again i play mostly private races with my mates rather than public ones.

i know what you mean about tracks tho all we usually race on is nurburgring and maple valley :p
  • metalangel #23 2 years ago

Tempted by the Jeep but not enough to buy this. Just can't muster enthusiasm for Forza 3. I blame the career mode, which means I finish a fun tournament to be faced with yet another R-class world champion race and after that I'm presented with a choice of three events, all R-class, before another leg of the world championship... which adds up to an hour of letting the game play itself in AI driver mode because I hate R-class racing.
  • Toothball #24 2 years ago

The later years of the season mode were a bit of a slog, but they were a trifling amount of work if you end up going after the whole grid.
