Forza 2 DLC released News

Xbox 360 News by Tom Bramwell

10 December, 2007

As promised, Turn 10 and Microsoft have released a downloadable new track for Forza Motorsport 2 along with a bundle of new cars, including the legendary [picks one at random] Lamborghini Gallardo.

If you were reading last week then you knew to expect that, but what you didn't know is that the track was Road America, which is located in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin, and home among other things to the "American Le Mans". Think about that. If you want to see the layout, Wikipedia has it. The track costs 100 Microsoft Points (GBP 0.85 / EUR 1.16).

The other thing you didn't know is which cars you get in the December Car Pack. It's the Audi R8, Audi Sport Quattro, BMW Motorsport M3 E30, Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano, Ferrari FXX, Koenigsegg CCGT, Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera, Pontiac Grand Am SD-455, Porsche 911 GT1 (996), Renault 5 Turbo and Renault Clio Renaultsport 197. 400 MS Points to you, which is GBP 3.40 / EUR 4.65 in a world where some browsers don't like currency symbols.

The other news is that the Renault Clio Renaultsport 197 can be had for free, allowing you to indulge all those Renault Clio Renaultsport 197 of yours. Except that one.

I'm not a fan of those drip-drop DLCs sucking our money, but a new track at that price (and Road America especially) seems acceptable.

Erm, except that we did know it was Road America before it was even released, thanks to the trailer on GameTrailers that the developers themselves linked everyone to!

Oh, and the track is the Forza 1 build, meaning it is out of date, as it still contains a bridge after Canada Corner which has since been taken down...

In my younger, slightly less rational days, come the setting of the sun my chums and I would race around the streets in our cars just because there was nothing else to do of an evening, and about the only car I could never quite catch was the Renault 5 turbo - it was wickedly quick round the corners, accelerated faster than pretty much anything, and this was before chavs even existed!

>When can the poverty stricken expect to get these for free?

Fuck me - it's 85p for the track - You have GOT to be joking...??!

If you're that strapped for cash why the hell have you got a 360 as you obviously can't afford to buy any games for it?!

Sheeesh, things DO cost money - you can't download / copy / rip /steal everything in this life you know?!

/gets off soap box

Sorry, just get's my goat.

Hypnopedia - Agreed.

I think Forza2 has been excellent value (from the time I've spent with it). Extras, which you can mix and match, even opt not to buy, are welcome IMO.

Seriously, that Top Gear ep last night was one of the best things I've ever seen on telly. I actually shouted "Fuck Yeah! We're gonna kick arse!" out loud when they brought Stig out to get them a decent quali lap. Brilliant stuff.

Is there another way to get hold of this DLC other than using Live? South Africa doesn't have Live access yet and I want ALL those cars. :(

Ok maybe not the Pontiac.
