Forza 2 DLC on Friday

Car pack and a new track.

Turn 10 has said to expect new premium downloadable content for Forza Motorsport 2 on 7th December.

Fans of the game can look forward to a car pack (400 Microsoft Points / GBP 3.40 / EUR 4.65) and a single downloadable race-track (100 MS Points / GBP 0.85 / EUR 1.16), and while specific details are thin on the ground community manager Che Chou has been dropping hints.

"We won't reveal just yet which cars are in the pack, or for that matter, which track you guys can download next week, but there are hints. For instance, the cover image for this week's Pitpass is a top-down photo of one of my favorite Bimmers in the new pack," Chou wrote.

"There are some high-end exotics coming as well as a classic rally car and even one of the most-requested muscle cars from GM made it into the 11-car line-up.

"As for the DLC track... anything I note about its characteristics will definitely give it away, so let me just say that it is one of our favourite tracks from Forza 1 and we're glad it's back in the game."

Apparently it's "not Fujimi Kaido". Fair enough then.

Forza 2's initial downloadable content was the Twin Ring Motegi track, which was reduced to 400 MS Points after complaints about the initial price of 600.

If it was in Forza 1, why have we got to pay for it in the sequel !?

Arent sequels meant to surpass their predecessors ? Robbing twats.

Well the track is only 85p I suppose but it's a shame that it wasn't free. I suppose it must have taken them an hour or ten to convert it to HD though.

Given how bored I was of Forza's tracks and that Forza 2 recycled most of them so they became even more tedious, the news that a track from the original game is making its way into the sequel doesn't particularly excite me.

I'd rather pay 85p to £1.70 for a brand NEW fictional track to be honest.

No way. The real tracks are always the best ones. Sunset Infield and Maple Valley are cool, but Forza 2 was criminally missing Road America. Let's hope this is the track that makes it to the DLC next week, eh?

    Not free? No thanks then...

My money's on the Bathurst styled track, and if this beemer is not the new M3, then there'll be heads to crack.

Although the proper Road America would be nice. Or even a decent new real world track, some thing more interesting (and preferably cheaper) than Motegi, like Circuit de la Sarthe or Spa, but we all know that'll never happen.

You don't 'have' to pay for it. Either buy it or don't. Stop bloody whining.

The top down shot looks like it could be an older BMW, say a late 80's or early 90's M5? I do get out (sometimes) and therefore could be totally, utterly wrong :)

85p is fine, you dont have to download it and loads of tracks does not equal a far better game. I downloaded the Motegi pack but never race on it!

More cars is always a welcome addition though. Lots of people never played Forza 1 so I dont think 85p for a track many will not have raced (improved no doubt) is bad at all.

The top down shot looks like it could be a mid nineties 7 Series.

Looks like a 635csi, the coolest BM ever IMO.

I'm sure I will get these. The cars are ALWAYS welcome (if it's a reasonable deal), and the price of the track is very reasonable. I really miss most of the tracks from Forza 1...too bad it doesn't seem they can be properly integrated into the game - i.e. in more than Arcade modes...

Well there is a surprise, selling tracks from Forza 1... Who didnt see this comming?

The selection of tracks in 2 was poor. Not enough and to make matters worse, half of them were rehashes from the first game. It should have had all the old tracks and as many new tracks.

And then created some brand new tracks.

But hey, the physics were poor anyway, I still wont buy it again.

In what way are the physics poor? I think its pretty good! Especially for a console game (I think they have the balance spot on personally).

Forza 2 is a brilliant game, but I will never pay for download content and yes I will be missing out, I know I know.

Well actually I will be buying the Mass Effect content, simply because I want to know what happens next in the story. But it will be a cold day in hell when I pay 5 quid just for a few more cars to drive or for some armor for my horse.

They need to bring back the point to point races! The mountain ascent/descent were bloody great on Forza 1..

dk_rare - surely in this 'age of download' DLC is akin to expansion packs bought from shops? What they should do, is compile a number of DLC packs into a grouped expansion download so that people can catch up in one swoop later down the line.

Many a time I've been making a game and wished we could add more content. DLC allows developers to add content and value to games, of course it needs to be paid for (wages, wages, wages) but considering the very small amounts we're talking here, I think its fine. 85p for a track? No worries.

They've given us choice, nobody has to buy.

eldarko, thanks for recognising a superb track. i had spent many an hour just ripping that track to bits. if it comes back than i may buy forza 2 because when i found out that it does not have that track i was disappointed big time.e
