Forza 2 demo confirmed

Plus new cars revealed.

Microsoft has confirmed reports that a Forza Motorsport 2 demo will appear on Xbox Live Marketplace fairly soon. "The rumours this week of a downloadable demo are true and the details on timing will be confirmed in the coming weeks," the publisher said in a statement.

As is now tradition, the company revealed a number of new cars going into the game, which is due out next month, and this time it's the turn of "Aftermarket Tuner Car Classics". See below for a full list of those, and scour the official website for more details on each if you fancy.

You can also start looking forward to our hands-on coverage of the ambitious racer, with playable code expected at the office within a similar timeframe to the demo. We're already fighting over the steering wheel. Well, I say fighting - there's really no contest.

Hmmm, most of those cars don't really float my boat.

How many cars in total are in this game?

  • Pac #5 5 years ago

No Italian cars listed, or is that just in the demo.

I've not played Forza before but I am really looking forward to this one.

    Hurry up guys!
  • mkreku #6 5 years ago

Let's hope that the driving physics are a little more less stale in Forza 2 than it was in Forza. Otherwise it looks almost too good to be true!
  • Macross #7 5 years ago

    @ Pac

this is just one of many lists of cars, these are just the latest additions to the roster :)
  • Dizzy #8 5 years ago

    >No Italian cars listed

This is a list of the NEW cars.
  • Concrete #9 5 years ago

How many bloody GT-Rs in the game but no GT-Ts or GTS-Ts :( We demand drift mobiles!
  • Kostabi #10 5 years ago

I'm waiting for the Race Class car list more than anything else. I've got my fingers crossed for a few of the Le Mans protos, the 360 sponsored Peugeot should be there at least.
  • Pac #11 5 years ago

    @Dizzy, Macross

Ahh.. should have read text a bit more thoroughly.

It's choc full of the things.

    Good stuff then. Carry on.
  • teabagger #12 5 years ago

A Mazda RX7 is there. This makes me very happy.
  • MrNice #13 5 years ago

Yet another great list of cars. Forza 2 looks like it's shaping up nicely, I might have to actually buy the wheel for this one.
  • dbeamish #14 5 years ago

I would have hoped to see some German and Italian cars in that list tbh..
  • SpacemanX #15 5 years ago

The first one was quite sad try. Hopefully this one will be better.
  • The-Bodybuilder #16 5 years ago

Never played the first one, but I'm looking forward to this.
I've always wanted to get into the motor scene and understand the love of cars, but found it overwhelming.

I'm depending on forza to help me into it.

Who's losing this fight to Tom?
  • ScottyXTUK #18 5 years ago

Looking forward to this, can't wait to try out the demo.

    Lexus. It's the Japanese Mercedes.
  • sharpfish #22 5 years ago

Needs MK1 MR2 Supercharger JDM (1989) and Mitsubish FTO GPX/GR (not just GPvR)... why? Cos that's my cars in real life, and I like to drive em in game. We can't all afford new or exotic cars so these oldies would be cool for poor folk with a penchant for Jap-mobiles such as me.

Still it wil be a great game i'm sure. :)

  • Hench #24 5 years ago

    E36 M3 - sounds good :)
  • AhrimaaN #25 5 years ago

There's a major shortage of BMW's in this game :(
  • cyber_nicco #26 5 years ago

This is not the full list! They reveal them in batches - Italian cars were weeks ago. Go to http://www.forzacentral. com for more details.

Forza1 is really, really good. I am so looking forward to this.
  • cyber_nicco #27 5 years ago

    @spacemanx

You are, without a doubt, an idiot.

    I won't take that back.

Oh, it will. Best part is, you can go as deep or as shallow into any particular aspect. I learned alot about tuning with Forza1, but some of my friends got crazy with it. I focused more on the paintjobs, so we could swap tunings for paint. Friendly group races, car shows, meeting and discussing different cars/tracks/tunings . . .

If/when you get F2, feel free to look me up (busboy33). I usually race with some pretty decent people (talent-wise as well as polite) if you'd like to stoke your car interest.
  • hoathenfold #30 5 years ago

No SLK 55 AMG! :( This makes me sad.
  • The-Bodybuilder #31 5 years ago

busboy33. I'll take on on that offer. My gamertag is "Benny Blancko". But I'm staying away from online play for the next few weeks until my uni work is done. :(
  • foamy #32 5 years ago

It's strange the lack of road bmw's. The 6 series appeared in the first trailers, it's strange if it doesn't appear in the final version :| Also, the M5 would be T3H GR34T3ST SH1TZ!
  • Waser #33 5 years ago

Who do I petition to get the M5 added to the rosta God damn it!?!?
  • SomaticSense #34 5 years ago

    @Kostabi

"I'm waiting for the Race Class car list more than anything else. I've got my fingers crossed for a few of the Le Mans protos, the 360 sponsored Peugeot should be there at least. "

Don't hold your breath. If they can't even include the new Civic Type R that's recently been released, which is probably the most important Japanese release in the automotive industry this year (especially considering the stupid amount of Japanese cars they already have, plus already having the Honda licence), then I highly doubt they'll include a car that hasn't even been finished. A car which not even Peugot knows what it is capable of, and isn't even taking a part in a race until June.

I've been bitterly disappointed with the car list so far anyway. This game has the potential to destroy Gran Turismo, and while I know it is all about the gameplay, if they can't improve the variety of car selection massively over the previous game (next-gen after all, so no excuses really), then GT will always be better in the car enthusiasts eyes. And from what I've seen so far, 'massively improved' is certianly not an accusation that can be leveled at the car selection, which seems to consists of the exact same selection as the last one, plus a few others, and with virtually none of the new recently released cars (only the Peugeot 207 from what I can see).
And 12 tracks? FFS, that's bloody pathetic, DLC or not.....

I really want this to be better than GT (as I refuse to ever buy a PS3), but if GT5 adds a damage model (if rumours are true), improves the non-Jap car selection, actually has AI, yet still keeps everything else that defines the series, then it's going to absolutely obliterate this game.
