Force Unleashed to get new DLC level News

Xbox 360 PlayStation 3 News by Ellie Gibson

27 July, 2009

Another downloadable level is on the way for Star Wars: The Force Unleashed this autumn.

It's set on Tatooine and takes place after the end of the original game. Your mission is to polish off Obi-Wan Kenobi, exploring Jabba's palace and meeting Boba Fett along the way.

LucasArts has also unveiled Star Wars The Force Unleashed: Ultimate Sith Edition, due to launch in time for Christmas. It'll be available for PC and Mac as well as Xbox 360 and PS3.

It'll include the previously released DLC level set on Coruscant, the Tatooine one plus an exclusive mission which takes you to The Ice Planet Hoth. Playing as the Secret Apprentice, you're sent to crush the Rebellion once and for all and face off with Luke Skywalker himself. Easy.

You'll also get new skins so you can play as Luke, Obi-Wan, Anakin, Count Dooku, Jango Fett, C-3PO and Jabba's gay uncle. Maybe not the last one, disappointingly.

The trailer for the Ultimate Sith Edition is now showing on Eurogamer TV.

UPDATE: This article has been amended to correct some errors, sorry. The problem was two separate press releases were issued, one which only mentioned the PC and Mac Sith Edition and one which only referred to the 360 and PS3 versions, both of which referred to the Tatooine and Hoth levels but within different contexts. Confused? We were, obviously.

Love the photo Ellie :)

I quite liked the Jedi Temple, even if it was a bit short. I'm looking forward to another level to bash through, and hopefully the skins will be nice (though I thought we already had those as an option?). I liked Mace last time.

I thought the Jedi Temple was actually really good as far as DLC goes. Sure, it wasn't particularly long, but it was a good blast with lots of physics in a beautiful location, and the trials were pretty cool.

I'll probably pick this DLC up.

Isn't the level set on Tatooine, where you fight Obi-Wan, the new dlc level available in autumn and the Luke Skywalker level an exclusive level for the Sith Ultimate Edition?

It's not mentioned in the article, but The Sith Edition will also be a PC release of the original game plus the new content.

frankster, yes, that's what I heard too, and if true, I think that it's absolutely disgraceful.

So I have to rebuy a game I already own to play new content?

Fuck that.

@Bitkari: And don't forget the Mac :). There are apparently still people playing games on a Mac.

Bit of an oversight to not mention that this game is also coming to the PC as Bitkari mentions. :?

I quite enjoyed the Xbox 360 demo I tried a year or so back but the horrendous screen tearing put me instantly off it so I was hoping it would eventually come to the PC. Well it looks like it is albeit much later than I expected. Still better late than never, eh, and it's likely to cost under £20 when bought online too which will sweeten the lengthy wait.

I only hope that the developers put a bit of effort into the PC version and offer basics like V-Sync (can be forced via the control panel anyway), AA and graphics scaling options, something that has been missing from an increasing number of games I've bought recently, e.g. Bionic Commando.

I didn't pick up the game back when it was first released, so this doesn't seem too bad. The new levels actually look really cool and getting all of the skins, etc would be nice. Would still need to be £20 though, the game isn't worth any more than that.

Any chance you could find out from the powers that be if this means they'll add trophy support for the vanilla game + add ons on the PS3? can't think of a better time to do it, and they won't get many sales of the 'Sith edition' boxed copy on PS3 without it.

@Lemming81: It in fact means they are adding trophy support for this game. Article is lacking all sorts of information.

@Frankster Ahahahahahahaaa. Indeed. Macs... Tsk, why don't they just stick to the Sims or Myst? Or those versions of Guitar Hero that come out about a year late? POS for design work and idiots only.

If I wanted a Fisher Price computer I'd buy an actual Fisher Price computer: http://www.fisher-price.com/fp.aspx?st=1... ;-)
