i got my new 360 last Friday as game were doing a promotion with the console - you get a free copy of this Star Wars game. I wonder how many of the uk sales were attributed to this?

It is still a bit "meh" tbh.

Certainly no Tie Fighter from back in the day either. September has been a slow month.....

I started playing it last night and thought it was 'meh' too..... but i'll give it a bit more of a chance. Flinging enemies around is quite fun but it seems pretty repetitive so far.

Well it is the first big budget console game to be released since god knows when so it's hardly suprising.

having borrowed a copy of a friend , who is busy with exams this week. I was pretty disappointed.
It felt very bland and lifeless. Even the story bit which most people seem to like i found very soulless.
When i give it back i definately won't think about it again, it is completely unremarkable.

Should have sold to the normal movie license buying lot and no one else, on second thoughts i guess that counts for the 1.5 million sales. ;-)

I defeated the emporer on Sith Master just this morning. Some bits of this game are a total bastard and some of the game mechanics are ancient and stupid (fight through long area of grunts then face off against incredibly hard boss - get killed - repeat).

Strangely though I'm looking forward to re-playing it on Sith Lord...

That shows marketing > quality

But the worst thing is Lucas will not have any reason to do sequels to quality series like Knight/Academy/Tie-Fighter when this crap sells so well.

Yep, like Michaelius says, this sort of thing will only encourage LucasArts to not bother with anything outside of Star Wars, and to only pursuit these mega-budget, massively hyped series.

I would give a digit for a decent console TIE Fighter sequel - decent being the vital word there.

TIE Fighter just needs re-mastering and re-releasing. Make it look shiny and add a few more missions, job done.

I don't trust Lucas Arts not to fuck up a full on remake.

Agree with what most of you have said. It just goes to show that a good marketing campaign is more important than game quality and reviews. I played the demo and was far from impressed.

Now we just need a patch for that retarded *Default Text glitch, and the missing Kashyyyk Holocron. Anybody else have this problem?

Quite good fun on your second run through. Feels better being powered up from the start. Almost like you are a Sith (not an emo pussy who Uri Gellar (sp?) would kick the shit out of with his mind powerz), especially with some of the later costumes (where you don't look like Oliver Twist).

Release a game on that many platforms and it's bound to sell that well if it's marketed.

@sergeantdisco

I loved x-wing and was still playing it maybe 5 years ago, i could see it working on the console as well i.e. trigger buttons to increase speed etc etc.
I am sorely missing some decent space combat simulation and would love to see x-wing/tie-fighter released to the downloadable market for a decent price it would end up as a must buy for me.

Admittedly, the game IS quite shallow but despite it it provides some fun when it allows you to go mental with the force powers. Which still makes it one of the better SW games made by LA in recent memory.

It's ok to play through once on the PSP.
The bonus fights are fun and the boss fights in the main game aren't too shaby either.

The long coridor fights in between are boring. :p
Story is so-so. Not far in yet (after temple now).
