Foos and Velvet tracks for GH3 News

Xbox 360 News by Tom Bramwell

8 November, 2007

EA may be making a big song and dance about the full albums it will be selling as downloads for Rock Band, but Activision's Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock is due out this month and already there are downloadable songs built around particular bands - with Foo Fighters and Velvet Revolver packs going up today.

The former gives you access to "The Pretender", "All My Life" and "This Is A Call" for 500 Microsoft points (GBP 4.25 / EUR 5.82 approx), while the latter offered "She Builds Quick Machines", "Slither" and "Messages" for the same amount.

Guitar Hero III is already out in the States, hence the release, and will be with us here on 23rd November for PS3, Xbox 360, Wii and PS2. PC and DS versions are also planned, although we've heard suspiciously little about the latter. For more on the game's progress, check out our recent Guitar Hero III Xbox 360 first impressions, and watch out for a review in the near future.

Why The Pretender? Which is rubbish. Why not Everlong? Or Stacked Actors? Or Breakout?

And still 500pts for three songs? Arse. Still, at least with them being per band there's a reasonable chance of liking all three.

Yeh, odd choice of songs in parts. All My Life was on my please-God-let-it-be-there list, and it was \o/. To be fair they're all great fun to play, but I've been hammering All My Life :)

I'm tempted by the VR pack, but at that price, I'll prolly wait until Rock Band for the DLC (depending on the price of that)

@ Zomoniac - whilst everlong is a great song, it's not terribly interesting guitar-wise.

I really like The Pretender, think it could make a great track to play!

1000MSP/£8.50 for a whole ALBUM seems a likely price to me for Rock Band. That's twice the price for on average 11 songs...

this is for just GHIII I would think - they don't need to do sequels for this game - just content to DL, but at a better price.
