FNR4 to get Klitschkos next month

Download them and others for 800 MSP.

EA plans to add three new boxers to Fight Night Round 4 in September, including Ukrainian brothers Vitali and Wladimir Klitschko.

Wladimir currently holds the IBF, WBO, IBO and Ring Magazine world heavyweight titles, you know, and older brother Vitali is the reigning WBC heavyweight supremo. Christmas at the Klitschko's must have been fun.

Joining them will be Oscar "The Golden Boy" De La Hoya, who Wikipedia reckons has generated more money than any other boxer in the history of the sport.

Those three, plus alternate versions of George Foreman - he who designed the PS3 - and James Toney, will cost 800 Microsoft Points (£6.80/€9.60) or £9.99 from the PlayStation Store.

There's a free update scheduled for September too, remember, which adds new gloves, shorts, trunks and face-button punches.

That's really milking it on EA's behalf. Whatever about De La Hoya and Foreman, as current champions the Klitschkos should have been in from the start.

I'll give EA the benefit of the doubt when it comes to the Klitschkos this time, due to their recent good track record.

EA are using DLC the way it shouldn't be used.

To add things that should already be in the game is a DISGRACE!

Im all up for DLC if it adds stuff to a full complete game...not stuff they left out to get extra money a month later!
EA the last few years have really impressed me with the top games they are doi g but this DLC rip off is ruining that alittle

Fleecing those Ukranian gamers of their hard earned cash eh...niice...they could have chucked David Haye in there too so you could at least play the match up that never was

tbh, this one looks like this years winner of the Bethesda horse armour award

There could of been licensing disagreements (as was the case with de la hoya, mayweather also) with the Klitschkos, hence why I am giving them the benefit of the doubt this time.

I wouldn't even pay 800MS points to see the real Klitschkos fight.

    "He who designed the PS3"

Had a hearty laugh when I read that, excellent!

How many boxers were there in FN3? - I suspect that the latest version of FN had more boxers from the start so I am not against the releaase of this DLC.

"I wouldn't even pay 800MS points to see the real Klitschkos fight."

haha so true, same goes for heavyweight boxing in general, in fact i dont watch anything above light heavyweight anymore as the difference in quality in the cruiser and heavy divisions is pretty embarrassing for the sport.

Why the hell is this DLC almost 50% more expensive on the PS3?!? :?

    That's disgusting IMO.
  • bad09 #13 3 years ago

Anyone know when in September the patch hits? It's great I'm excited about FN4 again!
  • M_of_the_sys #14 3 years ago

So they bring out a broken game, then they bring out a broken patch to fix the broken game on the xbox, delay this on the PS3 and then announce a rip off price for their next DLC.

I'm still curious as to whether they will change the training modes when they bring out the face buttons.

£10 is really going too far here. I really don't see how they can think that is decent value for money.
  • myiagros #16 3 years ago

    £6.80 vs £9.99 ouch!!!

PS3 owners being ripped off royally!!! No thanks EA.

edit: EG next time you get to chat to Mr Moore please ask about this.

Roll on September. Looking forward to that face button control update.
Have been playing the game but still not totally sold on the the whole total punch control thing.
Will be holding off doing more Legacy mode until the update. However the Fight Now option will be getting some use, especially when you can download user created boxers like Rocky for free. :D
  • monkeywithnoeyes #18 3 years ago

price difference may be because Sony charge more to place dlc on psn? most fanboys always ripp into Microsofts greed with charging developers for content put on live but Sonys no different..capcom were only recently complaining that they dont demo as much on the ps3 because the charge v's the install base isnt worth it.

800pints wasted anyway.. the excellent create a boxer feature has eliminated any need for dlc in this game

you can buy a full price game for that, well a decent budget game anyway
